There, the rapper made remarks about his journey and why he chose the Louisiana city as his headquarters. During an interview with Billboard, Fif also opened up about his commitment to uplifting the talent in the 318 and beyond.

“As someone who has always believed in the transformative power of music, film, and television, I’m beyond excited to introduce the expansion of my G-Unit Film & Television through the launch of G-Unit Studios right here in Shreveport. From the gritty narratives of the streets to the compelling stories that define our era, G-Unit has always been more than just entertainment; it’s a platform for voices that need to be heard, stories that need to be told,” he said.

“Bringing G-Unit Studios to Shreveport is not just a business decision; it’s a commitment to fostering talent, creating opportunities, and building a community that thrives through creativity and innovation. We see Shreveport as a beacon of inspiration and creativity.”

Shreveport’s Mayor, Tom Arceneaux, also spoke about the milestone for the city and the mogul. Arceneaux detailed how G-Unit Studios will boost the local economy with job opportunities. He stated that the institute would usher in the next generation of creatives.

“We are thrilled that G-Unit Studios will plant its roots in Shreveport,” Arceneaux expressed. “This city’s rich culture and talent provide the perfect backdrop for this endeavor. We are eager to collaborate with Mr. Jackson and G-Unit Film & Television to bring captivating movies and entertainment to Shreveport and Caddo Parish.”

The New York City native originally conceived G-Unit Studios as G-Unit Film & Television Inc. in 2005. The entertainment company has produced many shows over the years, including the fan-favorite Power on Starz. Other shows produced for Starz include Raising Kanan, Force, Ghost, and BMF.

Here's hoping we get a variety of content from his studio (outside of his 1,000 Power spin-offs), which is something we aren't getting from Tyler Perry.
