All Stars 10: Who Will Be The Wildcard Queen Returning To the Grand Finale?

ree

As we draw closer to the finale, fans are speculating which queen will be chosen by the judges to compete in the lip sync smackdown for the crown.

RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 10‘s last format twist will see one eliminated queen reintroduced into the finale’s lipsync smackdown for the crown as a wildcard – but who will it be?

All Stars 10 is taking viewers of the RuPaul’s Drag Race spinoff through more twists and turns than the most recent seasons of The White Lotus and The Last of Us combined.

In a difference to all previous All Stars seasons, the first nine episodes saw three episodes each dedicated to a select six queens, and only the top three from each Bracket of the tournament-style, points-based system were declared winners.

Then, those nine queens – Aja, Bosco and Irene the Alien from Orange Bracket, Jorgeous, Lydia B. Kollins and Mistress Isabelle Brooks from Pink Bracket and Cynthia Lee Fontaine, Daya Betty and Ginger Minj from Purple Bracket – advanced to the semi-finals after a lengthy filming break for two episodes of another different franchise-first elimination format.

Cynthia has already been eliminated after the season’s Snatch Game and a lipsync against Mistress – and one more queen is set to hit the house in the upcoming episode 11.

But in one last flourish, All Stars 10 will be implementing the ‘Wildcard’ twist at some point before the season’s final lipsync smackdown for the crown.

What is the All Stars 10 wildcard twist?

As announced by Ru upon the elimination of each Bracket’s bottom-three queens, all hope is not lost.

Before the final episode’s lipsync tournament for the crown, one queen who had been eliminated will be brought back – but how are they chosen?

Well, as with all of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the All Stars 10 wildcard will be down to the judges; Each regular judge on the panel will select who they believe deserves to re-enter the competition.

This could be someone who didn’t make it through the preliminaries – or, as revealed in episode 10, Cynthia Lee Fontaine or the queen eliminated in episode 11.

By ‘regular judge’, we mean Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Matthews, Ts Madison (and maybe Law Roach). One queen of these selections will be ‘selected at random’ to come back, back, back, back, back again – and that’s in inverted commas because nothing in Drag Race is ever random.

Who will be the All Stars 10 wildcard queen?

We obviously don’t know who the All Stars 10 wildcard queen will be – but in our expert opinion, we can make some educated guesses before it’s announced.

Our first picks would be Denali, who competed in the Purple Bracket, and Tina Burner, who competed in the Pink Bracket, both of whom originally appeared on season 13 of the show.

The reason for both of those selections is that they’re the only queens from their preliminary rounds who actually placed in the top two for a challenge; Denali, for Purple’s ‘Stagegooch’ country girl group challenge, and Tina Burner for the ‘Magic Eight Ball’ in the Pink Bracket.

From a production perspective, it would also make sense to bring back Pink Bracket’s Kerri Colby or Orange Bracket’s Deja Skye, both originally from season 14.

The former, because she only started to shine (and give it to the girls) in her last episode of her preliminary round, and the latter because though she was in her head this season, she’s famously a fierce lipsyncer – and an extra chance could be just what she needs to take some b*tches out.

Then, there’s whoever is eliminated next episode; All Stars 10 will want their wildcard to be someone with production value and fierce drag. It’s unlikely that Jorgeous or Ginger Minj will get taken out next episode, so if (god forbid) Mistress Isabelle Brooks or Daya Betty get eliminated, you can bet they’d be at least one judge’s wildcard pick.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 continues on Fridays on Paramount+ in the US and WOW Presents Plus internationally.
