Aubrey O’Day Says Diddy Didn’t Hurt Her As Much as Her Danity Kane Bandmates, Alleges Shocking Six-Figure Sex Offers From Major Music Stars

Aubrey O'Day is opening up about the resentment she still carries from her time in Danity Kane, and her biggest source of pain is not Sean "Diddy" Combs. During an appearance on a recent podcast appearance, the singer revealed that most of her former bandmates hurt her more deeply than the disgraced music mogul, despite the serious allegations she has made about her experience working with him.

Aubrey O'Day has spent years speaking publicly about the damage she says Sean "Diddy" Combs caused in her life. So when Creators Inc. Podcast host Andy Bachman asked who still owes her an apology, her answer landed somewhere unexpected.

"Everyone in Danity Kane," O'Day said during the Thursday, September 3 episode.

"Diddy?" Bachman followed up.

"I don't need one from Diddy," O'Day replied. "He didn't hurt me as much as they did."

The singer made one exception for Shannon Bex, saying the two have already worked through their issues in therapy. "So, not Shannon, but the rest of them. Yeah."

That's saying something considering how openly O'Day has discussed her experience with Combs.

She rose to fame in Danity Kane, the five-woman group formed on Diddy's MTV series "Making the Band 3" alongside Bex, Dawn Richard, D. Woods and Aundrea Fimbres. Their first two albums debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making Danity Kane the first female group in Billboard history to debut its first two albums at the top. Their 2006 debut went platinum, while "Show Stopper" and "Damaged" both reached the Hot 100's top 10.

Then everything unraveled. Combs removed O'Day and Woods from the group in 2008, and Danity Kane disbanded in early 2009. O'Day has since alleged that Combs fired her after she rejected sexual advances, an allegation his spokesperson declined to address individually.

O'Day is also making serious claims about her time in the music industry. She says powerful figures allegedly tied career opportunities to sex.

According to O’Day, some major artists even offered her tens of thousands of dollars. Her allegations shed light on the shocking experiences she says she faced while trying to build her career.

Speaking on the Creators Inc. podcast, O’Day said some music industry gatekeepers controlled who could become famous and allegedly demanded sexual favors in exchange for career opportunities.

O’Day alleged, “Some of the gatekeepers played dirty, and you had to f— for tracks.” She also claimed there was “all kinds of pay-for-play,” and said some of those individuals “still need to be [investigated] federally.”

O’Day then described two alleged offers. She said one major star currently on tour offered her $50,000 for sex, along with promises to appear on her first single, sign her to his label and produce the track.

She also claimed another recording artist offered around $150,000 for sex, which she said she rejected. “I would take neither of that, by the way…It was f—ing nuts,” O’Day alleged, adding that she received “many calls from many rappers” with similar propositions.

The singer also said she was “blacklisted” because of her outspoken criticism of Diddy, whom she had previously spoken against. She had also criticized his 2024 apology following the release of a 2016 video showing him physically assaulting Cassie Ventura.

O’Day became known after winning Making the Band and joining Danity Kane alongside Aundrea Fimbres, D. Woods, Shannon Bex and Dawn Richard. The group signed with Combs’ Bad Boy Records and released hits including “Damaged” and “Show Stopper.”

Danity Kane initially disbanded in 2009. The group reunited with three members for the 2014 album DK3. They later released more singles in 2019 and 2020. O’Day also appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice and Dance Moms and released two albums with Bex as Dumblonde.
