The dancer and DJ, who was once married to Britney Spears, has announced the release of his memoir You Thought You Knew.

“This book is extremely intimate and transparent. I achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak, and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced nonstop emotional turbulence,” Federline said in a statement. “If you’ve ever had questions, you’ll find answers here.”

You Thought You Knew is set to arrive Tuesday, October 21 via the new audio imprint Listenin. According to a press release, the book will be a “deeply personal and emotionally grounded” read, and will detail moments of his career. Readers can expect to learn more about Federline’s time dancing with Destiny’s Child and Michael Jackson, his marriage to Spears, and the fallout that came from their split.

Spears and Federline were married from 2004 to 2007. The couple shares two boys—sons Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18. Federline is also the father to daughter Kori, 23, and son Kaleb, 21, whom he shares with his ex Shar Jackson. In 2008, Federline married Victoria Prince, with whom he shares daughters Jordan, 13, and Peyton, 11.

You Thought You Knew is set to be the debut release from Listenin, a new audio-first storytelling imprint from Barracuda Baby Production.

“We’re proud to have Kevin as the first of our three books launching with Listenin,” said Jaren Hayman, founder of Barracuda Baby Productions. “He spent two years in every tabloid and two decades navigating a volatile, ever-changing reality — choosing silence to protect his kids. That silence left scars. Listenin was built for real voices telling real stories, and sharing Kevin’s after everything said about him means a lot to us. I am excited for the world to get to meet the real Kevin Federline.”

Speaking of Spears, her fans took to social media to drag Federline over his upcoming memoir.

Some fans were concerned that Britney could be emotionally impacted for the worse with her ex-husband bringing their past dirty laundry into the public consciousness.

The memoir will be available to download and stream on platforms like Spotify, Audible and Apple Books.
