Chappell Roan Reportedly Gaining a ‘Reputation’ After Alleged Fan Drama: She ‘Can Come Off Cold’

Chappell Roan denies sending a security guard to reprimand an 11-year-old fan. However, people are saying that her attitude towards the very fans that helped make the former Starbucks barista famous is nothing new.

Chappell Roan is at the center of controversy after Jude Law’s young daughter was allegedly left in tears — but a new report claims the drama related to the “Pink Pony Club” singer isn’t necessarily surprising.

A source told journalist Rob Shuter for a Monday, March 23, post on his Naughty But Nice Substack, “People have been talking about how she treats fans for a long time.”

The public back-and-forth began this weekend after professional soccer player Jorginho Frello claimed that his wife Catherine Harding and her daughter Ada Law — whose father is the Black Rabbit actor, 53 — were approached by a security guard and accused of harassing Roan, 28.

(The three were all staying at the same São Paulo hotel while in town for Lollapalooza Brazil, and Ada apparently walked by Roan’s table at breakfast to see if it was really her.)

According to one of Shuter’s sources, the “Hot to Go” singer “doesn’t engage unless she has to. And when she does, it can come off cold.”

Following Frello’s lengthy Instagram rant, Roan shared her “half of the story,” via People, claiming that the person who went to talk to Ada, 11, and Catherine is “not my personal security.”

Saying that she “didn’t even see a woman and a child,” Roan claimed, “I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. I did not.”

However, Shuter’s source pointed out, “Security doesn’t act on their own. They know what she wants — and they enforce it.”

Whether or not Roan is right or wrong in the situation, a source told Shuter that “when you hear the same thing over and over, it becomes a reputation,” implying that it’s not the first time they’ve heard of a similar scenario involving the Grammy Award winner.

“Fans made her,” a source said. “Now they’re the ones asking if she even likes them.”

Harding, also known as Cat Cavelli, has now personally weighed in with an Instagram video shared on Sunday, March 22.

While she said she didn’t know if the security guard who approached her and Ada was actually Roan’s “personal security guard,” she claimed that “he was with her.”

“That is all I know,” Harding said. “Did she send him to do it? Again, I don’t know. I would like to hope not but at the same time I think that you have a responsibility when you are a celebrity to make sure that the people who work for you and act on your behalf are acting on your behalf. So would he do that if he didn’t have her authority to do so? I don’t know.”
