Chris Brown Again Responds to Criticism Over New Album, Mentions Zara Larsson: 'I Don't Give a F*ck'

Chris Brown is clapping back at critics of his Brown album. Breezy took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday (May 12), which saw him address those criticizing his new project, and he even took a swipe at pop star Zara Larsson.

Chris Brown, whose Brown project is projected for a No. 5 debut on the Billboard 200, has again responded to the mixed reviews spurred by the album, this time with a mention of Zara Larsson.

In a video shared to his Instagram Stories, Brown acknowledged expectations that he might “say some sad shit,” presumably in response to said mixed reviews. But Brown, as seen below, went a different direction.

“Team Breezy, I know people want me to get on here and, you know, say some sad shit, but fuck that,” he said in the video. “We kickin’ they ass, goddammit. We ain't lettin’ up. I'mma keep my foot on they neck and we ain't stopping. You heard me? We doing this motherfucker. Tour, more shit to come. I'm not gon’ tell you what's more to come, but it's coming, at the end of the day.”

While Brown never explicitly mentions it, the video comes after Pitchfork’s Alphonse Pierre dubbed his new album “a real piece of shit” in a recently shared review.

“I don't give a fuck what these n***as is talkin’ about,” Brown added in his IG Stories update. “I know exactly who my fans is and I know exactly who hearing this album. If you not my fan, I don't want you to listen to my shit. Go listen to motherfuckin’ Zara Larsson or somebody. Fuck them.”

Larsson, notably, has publicly criticized Brown—who, in 2009, pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna—in the past. In an interview with Cosmopolitan in February of this year, for example, his name came up when she was asked to name an artist who would “never” be found on one of her playlists.

“There’s so many artists I have blocked on Spotify, and all of them are, like, abusers,” she said at the time. “You certainly wouldn’t find, like, a Chris Brown song.”

Starting in June, Brown and Usher will co-headline a North American stadium tour together.
