Conservative pundit and former Trump aide Alyssa Farrah Griffin is weighing in on mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani winning the New York Democratic primary, and had some choice words for AOC, even though she doesn't even live in New York City.

Hours after Mamdani — the son of Mississippi Masala and Vanity Fair director Mira Nair — won the city's Democratic mayoral primary against Andrew Cuomo, the former Donald Trump associate criticized both Mamdani and AOC during a wider discussion about her ex-boss' public condemnation of the latter.
"AOC, listen, she is a smart, sharp voice on the left, but I've got to say, Donald Trump is dying to have this fight with her because he wants to make her the face of the Democratic party," Griffin, who previously worked for Trump's communications team, said after the president attacked AOC for suggesting he be impeached for how he handled the United States' involvement in bombing Iran's nuclear sites.

"Why? Because she's super articulate, smart, and somebody that energizes young people. How many bills has she passed into law? She has a less than 1 percent success legislative record. Similar to Bernie Sanders," Griffin continued. "He had less than a 1 percent record of actually passing legislation. You always need people who are going to get people energized, but what this country needs is solutions, and people who can't just talk about them, they can work across the aisle and they can get them done. To me, AOC is not the answer." (According to her profile on the congressional website, Ocasio-Cortez has still sponsored 69 bills and cosponsored 1,446 bills across six years in office.)
Her quotes came moments after the other cohosts spoke about Mamdani, described by the Associated Press as a "democratic socialist," though Griffin said she wanted to shift the focus back to a more national matter because she (and most of the show's viewers) don't live in New York City.
"I'm very nervous about this potential new mayor here, because this city does have real problems and you need somebody with experience," Griffin said. "He's had no real job that makes him ready to run one of the biggest economies in New York City, and it makes me nervous."
Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Ocasio-Cortez and Mamdani for comment.
Griffin has spoken out against Democratic strategies since Vice President Kamala Harris lost the 2024 presidential election against Trump, even going as far as to spar several times with her View cohosts about the topic on air.
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on ABC.

First of all no one cares what this self-hating Syrian who used to work for Donald Trump during his first term thinks about a progressive politician with socialist views. Speaking of Donald Trump, since you want to say NYers need a politician with experience to be the mayor of New York, did Donald Trump have any political experience when he became president, and you went to work on his first term?
People voted for Trump because they believed he would be the antithesis to the political status quo. I mean it turned out to be a lie both terms, but when you get to the root of the issue, people are tired of the zionist talking points, and rich oligarchs with their greed.
People voted for Zohran because while he hasn't been in politics for a long time (which Obama wasn't either before he became president), people are sick and tired of corporate centrist politicians like Cuomo and Eric Adams sucking on the teet of Wall Street, corporate billionaires and corrupt landlords instead of working for the people who actually voted them into office.
This is the same donkey that sat at the Hot Topice table a week ago spewing zionist talking points, and using gay people being thrown off buildings to justify America interfering in a war with Iran that Netanyahu baited our Idiot In Chief in getting us involved in.
We don't want a non-NYer speaking on a progressive who actually wants to bring change, and go against the establishment, but will back someone who's entire nepo baby career in politics has been sucking on the teet of his billionaire donors, and appeasing the status quo.
This is why I was shocked, but not surprised that women and black people voted for Cuomo than Mandani. They voted for a name and familiarity than for actual policy change. This is why I will continue to believe in the youth, because thanks to social media they are the ones who are getting more involved in politics, and want to see real change. They're also getting their information from real independent media and not being brainwashed by the propaganda spewed daily by legacy media conglomerates such as Faux News, MSNBC, CNN and NewsNation, to name a few.
At the end of the day Alyssa is rich and privileged, and with her working for a corporation like ABC she cares more about bending the knee to the status quo.
