Severance and The Penguin were honored with this season’s most nominations. The White Lotus also scored several noms. New shows including The Studio, The Pitt and Nobody Wants This were also in the mix when the nominees for television’s biggest night were revealed on July 15.

However, there were also some big surprises — including Meghann Fahy scoring her first lead actress nomination for Sirens.

Colman Domingo and Uzo Aduba also got some love from Emmy voters. Domingo earned a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for The Four Seasons and Aduba was recognized in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category for The Residence, which was canceled by Netflix after one season.

Also receiving some exciting news this morning was Sharon Horgan, who earned an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series nod for Bad Sisters, and Robby Hoffman for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Hacks.

Other surprises included Paradise being recognized for Outstanding Drama Series in its first season, What We Do in the Shadows earning a nod for Outstanding Comedy Series, and Jeff Hiller earning an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Somebody Somewhere.

However, Selena Gomez and Steve Martin were snubbed for Only Murders in the Building. 1923 also didn’t land any nominations despite getting critical acclaim and love from fans.

In addition to Gomez and Martin, Meryl Streep and Melissa McCarthy also didn't receive any nods for their roles in Only Murders.

House of the Dragon and Squid Game were left on the chopping block. Elisabeth Moss didn't receive a nod for her final season of The Handmaid's Tale, while Helen Mirren or Harrison Ford didn't earn any nods for their roles in 1923.

Other shockers including Natasha Lyonne for not earning any nominations for Poker Face, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola and Leslie Bibb being left out of The White Lotus recognition, Allison Janney not receiving a nomination for her role in The Diplomat and the Landman cast — including Billy Bob Thorton, Al Larter, Jon Hamm and Demi Moore — being snubbed.

Eddie Redmayne also didn't receive any recognition for his role in The Day of the Jackal.

For Hacks, Megan Stalter and Paul W. Downs didn't receive any nods, though some of their counterparts like Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder did.

Similarly, Bowen Yang earned a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Saturday Night Live, but Kenan Thompson and Heidi Garner were shut out. Unlike years past, SNL also didn't receive any guest star nominations.

Other snubs included Jack Lowden for Slow Horses after being nominated last year, Dichen Lachman for Severance, Diego Luna for Andor, Everybody's Live with John Mulaney for Outstanding Talk Series, and Renée Zellweger for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, which the Los Angeles Times predicted would earn a nod.

Additionally, Agatha All Along and Bridgerton failed to receive any acting nominations, and The Voice, which was previously nominated for Outstanding Reality Competition Program every year since 2012 and won four times, was left out of the category.

Last year, Shōgun and The Bear become the night's big winners.

Shōgun won an impressive 25 nominations and took the prize for outstanding drama series, in addition to its stars Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai winning for the lead drama series categories.

The Bear dominated the comedy acting categories with Jeremy Allen White, Liza Colón-Zayas, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jon Bernthal taking home honors during the 2024 ceremony.
