Former Bravo Producer Patrick McDonald Spills Tea On Behind The Scenes Abuse, Says He Was Fired For Making OF Content

Updated: Apr 8

Patrick McDonald, an associate producer who worked at Bravo for five years on shows such as RHOBH, RHOC, Married to Medicine, Vanderpump Rules (during Scandoval) etc., has revealed that he has been blackballed from the network after they discovered he makes adult content on fan sites like OF.

Before his stint as a producer, he also appeared on the short-lived Logo reality series Fire Island.

In his almost 18-minute confessional, which is on his Twitter page, he revealed that the reason why he started making sexual content is because he was burned out from all the shows he was working on.

Being an adult content creator afforded him the opportunity to work his own hours, make more money and not be a slave to the grind of working 12-hour days, six days a week for a three month period. He also didn't think him doing sex work would be a big deal, since some Bravolebrities such as Denise Richards and Larsa Pippen have OF pages, and they've even had sex workers behind the bar at the Watch What Happens Live clubhouse.

Patrick talked about how poorly the cast and crew were treated behind the scenes, which made him question whether or not he wanted to be there himself.

He also addressed how he developed a moral dilemma when one of the Housewives' sexuality was being questioned on the show. How producers were pushing other cast members to ask evasive questions to their fellow peer about their sexual orientation.

He didn't mention which one, but since he worked on RHOBH, I'm going to go out on a limb and say he was referring to Kyle Richards.

He also talked about Garcelle Beauvais' departure from RHOBH, and said he as well as the other crew members enjoyed working with Garcelle on the show. He loves that Garcelle chose to prioritize her life over RHOBH. The same can't be said about some of the other ladies.

Patrick went on to state that his life is more balanced, more fufilling and less toxic since making adult content, and now he worries less about what people think since traveling the world to make content with some of the most beautiful men on the planet.

In closing he gave a list of things that Bravo (who he wondered if they're even aware of some of the toxicity behind the scenes) could do to make working for the network more easygoing.

Stop overworking your producers to the point of complete exhaustion. He revealed they're not unionized, so there aren't guardrails in place to protect their employees from being mistreated and overworked.

He made it a point to point out that Vanderpump Rules and WInter House staggers their crew and their producers to make sure that everyone is taken care of. Then there are some shows where all the producers are working from 8am to 2am at the same time, which in my opinion is just plain idiotic.

On his first cast trip, he was a hand to hand combat with a housewife trying to stop her from physically assaulting another wife with a metal pole.

He made $1000/wk from being an associate producer. He's always been ased back for the next season when it wraps up but that didnt happen with RHOC, which coincided with when he started OF. He wasnt even asked back for the RHOBH reunion despite working on the season last year

On a recent cast trip, he traveled 22 hours and was told to go start work immediately scouting. For context, travel is considered part of the work day so basically they are working more than 24 hours "without rest" which is illegal but internationally, they are at the mercy of the showrunner. He's had to console other crying producers for not being able to produce frivolous things like a prop or locale for a scene.

In closing Patrick came to the revelation that one should never continie to pour themselves into a job that will cast you aside in a heartbeat. If you are able, live your life on your own terms.

After all the tea he spilled, I think Bravo did him a favor. Besides, why would you want to continue working at a place you deem toxic in your video?
