Garcelle Beauvais made the best decision for herself when she said goodbye to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Since leaving, she has kept busy as an actress, advocate, and mom. She’s been spending her time doing things that truly matter to her instead of staying with the show that was already weighing on her.
Garcelle had an amazing five seasons with RHOBH. Fans love her on the show, but after a difficult Season 14 and a terrible reunion where she felt attacked, she decided it was time to go.
Walking away from RHOBH gave Garcelle Beauvais her “power back”
These days, Garcelle is spending her time with her family and doing things that are important to her and close to her heart. One of the important things she’s focused on is prioritizing self-care.
“Self-care is preventative, and listening to your body,” Garcelle shared with Variety. “We can’t do things from an empty cup. We can’t take care of people if we’re not healthy to make sure that we’re around to continue.”
One self-care decision was her decision to leave the franchise. “As great of an opportunity as it was to be on ‘Housewives,’ it was heavy on my spirit,” she revealed. “Walking away has given me my power back. It’s given me a sense of freedom, and I’m in a good headspace. I want to create, I want to spend time with my family and friends. We live in a crazy world right now, and anywhere you can find joy and hold on to it for a bit is where we should all go.”
She added that she felt like there was a moment when she knew it was time to go. “I felt like I no longer belonged here,” Garcelle explained. “I no longer fit here. It was definitely a moment of like, ‘This is not for me.’ It just didn’t feel right.”

After Garcelle left, she unfollowed several former castmates on social media, likely to give her a clean start for now. She hasn’t completely closed off returning to the show, but definitely not anytime soon.
Now, she’s back to being an actress and an advocate. She is currently the new face of Lifetime’s annual Stop Breast Cancer For Life Campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The champaign strives to normalize conversations revolving around mammograms to reduce breast cancer risk among women of all ages. She also has several acting gigs lined up.
It looks like Garcelle isn’t just surviving, she’s thriving.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is streaming on Peacock. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
