HARRY STYLES MAKES HISTORY AS FIRST MALE SOLO ARTIST ON VOGUE COVER

Singer Harry Styles rocks a dress on the December cover of Vogue, and not only that, but he also made history as the first solo male artist to appear on a Vogue cover by himself.

Here’s what he had to say about his fashion choices:

“You can never be overdressed. There’s no such thing. The people that I looked up to in music—Prince and David Bowie and Elvis and Freddie Mercury and Elton John—they’re such showmen. As a kid it was completely mind-blowing. Now I’ll put on something that feels really flamboyant, and I don’t feel crazy wearing it. I think if you get something that you feel amazing in, it’s like a superhero outfit. Clothes are there to have fun with and experiment with and play with.”

“What’s really exciting is that all of these lines are just kind of crumbling away,” he adds. “When you take away ‘There’s clothes for men and there’s clothes for women,’ once you remove any barriers, obviously you open up the arena in which you can play. I’ll go in shops sometimes, and I just find myself looking at the women’s clothes thinking they’re amazing. It’s like anything—anytime you’re putting barriers up in your own life, you’re just limiting yourself. There’s so much joy to be had in playing with clothes. I’ve never really thought too much about what it means—it just becomes this extended part of creating something.”
