Hayden Panettiere to Return as Kirby Reed in ‘Scream 7’

While catching up with the actors of the 2012 series Nashville, EW confirmed that Hayden Pannetierre will reprise her role as fan favorite Kirby Reed in Scream 7.

EW reports that Panettiere will “team up with Neve Campbell‘s Sidney Prescott” for the latest installment in the slasher saga.

Due out on February 27, 2026, Scream 7 is directed by original Scream writer Kevin Williamson from a script by Guy Busick (Scream 2022, Scream VI).

Panettiere and Campbell aren’t the only familiar faces returning; they’ll be joined by Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, and Scott Foley.

Isabel May, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Asa Germann, Anna Camp, Ethan Embry, Mark Consuelos, Michelle Randolph, and Jimmy Tatro round out the cast.

The plot is expected to focus on Sidney Prescott and her family approximately two years after the events of Scream VI.

Here's hoping Kirby will be utilized better in the seventh installment than she was in the previous film. I can see her joining forces with Sidney and Gale, while Sidney's daughter Tatum tries to survive being sliced and diced by Ghostface.
