With the daily relationship shenanigans between Hennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck not only working my root canal nerve, but also keeping me working overtime trying to keep up with said shenanigans, with recent rumors swirling that Ben wants Hennifer back after she filed for divorce last month, now comes word that the Latin bombshell herself believes that Ben can save her flatlining music career.
According to The Sun, the Henny From the Block singer is looking to channel her inner-Tayoncé Swift by following up the major flop that wasThis Is Me...Now with a new breakup album, and is looking to use her fourth dicorce as creative inspiration.
"This album is going to be all about heartbreak. Fans are going to get the real story through her music.”
"Jen really wants that Cry Me A River-type ballad," the music insider continued, referencing pop star Justin Timberlake's monster hit about his breakup from Britney Spears.
Another insider close to Jennifer, 55, added that she is "focused on this next film coming out," referring to her movie Unstoppable which recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
If he couldn't save your music career when you created that mess we now know as This Is Me...Now, what makes you think he can salvage what's left of your music career?
If I were her I wouldn't do it. She already exploited her relationship with album number nine, and people didn't care.
If JLo wants to get back into the musical graces of the listening public, she needs to stick to her strengths (dance music, hip pop, and Shakira/Karol G-esque Latin pop) and leave the ballads to those who can pull it off, like her bestie Mariah Carey and Adele. We want bops like On The Floor, Get Right, Waiting For Tonight, Love Don't Cost a Thing, and Let's Get Loud.
I really don't get these hard-headed American pop acts who aren't the best singers just sticking to the type of music that will get you a possible top hit, and maybe start selling out arena's. She continues to want to play in the balladeer sandbox, and I don't care how many vocal sessions you book with Steve Mackey -- you are not a balladeer.
