Jimmy Kimmel Live! is lending a hand to those affected by recent cuts and freezes to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. On Tuesday afternoon, Kimmel announced that he and his show created a food donation center — named the “Big, Beautiful Foot Bank,” in reference to President Donald Trump’s so-called Big, Beautiful Bill — to aid those in need.
The food bank is being hosted at the ABC show’s backlot in Hollywood and is set to gather both food and donations for local orgs St. Joseph Center and the Los Angeles Food Bank. “Cutting SNAP benefits creates uncertainty for American children, seniors, and families,” Kimmel wrote on Instagram. “To support our community members in need, we’re starting a donation center.”
The center is set to be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT at the Hollywood lot’s 6901 Hawtorn Avenue address. In his post, Kimmel listed low-sodium soups and stews, canned tuna, chicken and salmon, nut butters, low-sugar cereals, protein bars, pasta, and rice as “most-needed foods.” The center also requested crackers, fruit snacks, trail mix, facial cleansers, oral hygiene items, soap, deodorant, and feminine products for those in need.

It’s unclear what the future holds for SNAP, which helps feed low-income individuals and families across the country. The program was frozen on Nov. 1 over a lapse in funding due to the government shutdown. A federal judge on Friday issued a temporary restraining order blocking the administration from suspending food aid, noting the “terror” it has caused families, who will continue to live in fear of losing their benefits under Trump’s administration.
On Friday night, numerous late-night TV hosts took aim at Trump for hosting a Great Gatsby-themed party while SNAP benefits expired for thousands of Americans.
“On the very night SNAP benefits ended, Trump threw a Great Gatsby-themed ode to decadence and hedonism that even Jeffrey Epstein would have thought was a little over the top,” Jon Stewart said on The Daily Show. “There were dancers, costumes, champagne — a wonderful celebration where the theme was apparently gross income inequality. The slogan of the party, as people were losing their food benefits — I shit you not — was ‘a little party never killed nobody.’”
