Joy Behar Disagrees With Whoopi Goldberg Praising Marjorie Taylor Greene’s “Miracle” Change Of Heart On ‘The View’: “You Give Her Too Much Credit”

The ladies of The View found themselves at odds while discussing Marjorie Taylor Greene’s recent criticisms of President Trump’s comments regarding the late filmmaker, Rob Reiner.

The cohosts clashed at the Hot Topics table during a conversation about Greene’s recent CNN interview, wherein the Republican politician called Donald Trump’s response to Rob Reiner’s death “classless” and claimed that it caused a “major fallout” among his supporters.

“Would you have guessed this time last year that Marjorie Taylor Greene was the canary in the coal mine?” Sunny Hostin posed to her cohosts. “I mean, would you have ever guessed that?”

“Only if you believe in miracles,” Goldberg replied. “To me, that’s a miracle when somebody who goes from all the way over here has an epiphany and says, ‘Yeah, they stopped me from doing what I wanted to do but, moreover, they’re stopping my constituents and I don’t like it,’ you know?”

Behar, however, wasn’t so sure of Greene’s intentions. “You give her too much credit maybe,” she said. “I mean, she’s ambitious. Let’s not forget that Santa is bringing the Epstein files this week.”

Behar went on to suggest that Greene might be making these comments because she wants to run for political office again. Last month, the representative announced that she’ll be resigning from Congress on Jan. 5.

“Everybody’s weakened in the Republican Party right now, they’re not gonna win, she knows it, she wants to run for something else,” Behar said. Raising her hands, she added, “I mean, I’m happy to have her on our side now, but…”

Goldberg didn’t share the same sentiment. “I don’t know if she’s on our side,” she replied. “I’m just saying, listen, I don’t have to agree with everything you say, but I need you to be conscientious enough to know when your people — the people who voted you in — are saying to you, 'We’re suffering. And you’re seeing me as part of your family, who is also suffering.'”

The EGOT winner continued, “I know she made some dough, but something woke her a-- up. Something woke her up. And I’m happy that it did.”

Behar remained skeptical. “It’s called getting her reelected is what it’s called,” she said, to which Goldberg and their fellow cohosts quipped back, “She’s not running for anything!”

But Behar still wasn’t convinced. “Wait and see what she’s gonna do,” she said, raising her hands again.

The View’s conversation about Greene comes just over a month after she sat down on the show and praised the cohosts for chatting with her “in a very professional and kind way” during her visit.

"A lot of people wanted me to come on this show and say nasty things, all of us to fight," she claimed. "I didn't want to do that today.”

Greene added at the time that “people with powerful voices like me and you, especially women, we need to pave a new path" forward.

The View airs weekdays on ABC.
