The action has sparked much speculation and questions from fans who are wondering why the singer would unfollow his longtime mentor and close friend. Justin and Usher have known each other since 2008 when the Canadian pop star was 14 year-old and Usher signed him to his joint record label with Scooter Braun. Since meeting him, Usher has mentored Justin throughout the years and become a close pal. The Love in This Club crooner attended Justin's wedding to Hailey Baldwin in 2019 and in a 2024 interview with E! News, expressed he was "very, very happy" for the couple as they welcomed their son Jack Blues.
On Monday, January 13, a fan took to a pop culture subreddit to share this discovery. The findings prompted conversation where people were wondering the reason and if this was a sign of something bigger as Justin recently unfollowed and reportedly blocked five other people from his former team. Other people also noted that he still follows Diddy on Instagram with others offering their two cents as to why.
One fan said: "Damn. I have a feeling something big is cooking up. Maybe an incoming lawsuit?" Another said, in response to a comment about the five other people he unfollowed: "I wonder if him becoming a father has made him reevaluate his childhood and how the adults in his life were exploiting him as a young child."

Another noted: "I have been hearing scratchings of allegations against Usher for the better part of a year now. Low-quality sources - blind items etc. - but there was a real persistence and momentum to them. It could all just be some of the conspiratorial hysteria that the Diddy stuff has given space to - but one to watch."
A fourth inquired: "But why does he still follow Diddy ??" One replied, stating: "That’s probably something that would make headlines / good clickbait fodder & i doubt that’s something he wants right now."
The Peaches artist's action of unfollowing Usher comes as he recently unfollowed and reportedly blocked people from his former team: Scooter Braun, Allison Kaye, Ryan Good, Poo Bear and Kenny Hamilton.

Scooter was Justin's manager and discovered the now-30-year-old. Justin had previously parted ways with Scooter before his retirement in June 2024. Allison was Justin's general manager, who had been working with him since 2009. Ryan was Justin‘s road manager and his fashion brand Drew House’s creative director. He was also the father-of-one's “swagger coach” and was the best man at Justin wedding.
Poo Bear was a frequent collaborator and wrote songs for Justin on his various albums, such as 2013′s Journals, 2015′s Purpose, 2020′s Changes and more. Kenny had been Justin's security guard since 2009.
