Kylie Minogue Scores Highest Chart Debut In A Decade With Padam Padam

A huge congratulations to pop phenom Kylie Minogue, who's brand new ear worm Padam Padam has scored her her highest UK singles chart debut in a decade.

Padam Padam's entry at Number 26 delivers Kylie her 52nd Top 40 entry, and her highest-charting song in the UK since Into The Blue hit Number 12 in 2014.

The track is the UK’s most-downloaded song of the week, scooping a Number 1 on the Official Singles Sales Chart and Download Chart.

This is definitely a well-deserved win for someone who has been making music for almost four decades, and continues to experiment with her sound. I also think this is why the song is a success, over all the songs she's released from the Golden and Disco era.

I truly feel that Padam Padam is the most confident Kylie has sounded in a long time, and while Golden and Disco were what they were regarding her experienting lyrically and sonically, those albums didn't really resonate with me the way Padam Padam has.

After slugging through a pandemic, and with all the craziness happening in the world, I think people just want to release the tension (pun intended) and have a little fun.
