The song is currently being streamed around 850,000 times per day – almost 25 years to the week after its release on September 8, 2001.

Can’t Get You Out Of My Head was the lead single from her album, Fever and has become her landmark hit.

The track hit the No1 spot in over 40 countries and sold more than five million copies worldwide.

Incredibly, in the UK it sold 306,000 copies in the first week it was on sale alone.

The song was heralded as the greatest global pop song of the 21st century and Kylie admitted it deserved to have a place in the history books.

Earlier this month she said: “I do believe that it has its place in that realm..

“Sonically and visually and at that point in my life, I think, what was I? What, 32? I was settling into myself.”’

It was part of her 21st century comeback after establishing herself with early hits from Stock, Aitken and Waterman and then dance label Deconstruction.

But Can’t Get You . . . was, says Kylie: “Like riding a spaceship.”

It’s yet another career milestone for the much-loved Aussie, who has had a bumper few years.

In May she hit the top spot on Netflix with her hard-hitting self-titled documentary series.

Next month Kylie will headline Australia’s biggest sporting event –  the Aussie Rules Grand Final in Melbourne.
