La La Anthony Slammed For Backing Andrew Cuomo Ahead Of New York City Mayoral Election: Weird & Embarrassing For Her’

Andrew Cuomo lost his bid to become New York City’s mayor, and La La Anthony is in the hot seat for backing his campaign.

Kim Kardashian's friend Lala Anthony was branded a "massive loser" by critics after publicly supporting Andrew Cuomo in the New York City mayoral election.

Lala, who has shared a 20-year-long friendship with Kim, showcased her support for the independent candidate during the 2025 mayoral race. On Election Day, the former Think Like a Man star took to her Instagram story sharing a photo beaming alongside the former governor of New York.

Cuomo, who was publicly endorsed by President Donald Trump, as seen smiling alongside the Hollywood star as they posed in a restaurant together. Along with the snap, the 43-year-old actress wrote, "It's Election Day here in New York City, pls go out & VOTE!"

She continued, "Let's go Andrew Cuomo @nygovuomo I've known him for years, he's passionate on criminal justice reform, and I've seen firsthand the kind of leader he can be! We need him! YOUR VOTE. YOUR CHOICE! I encourage everybody to get out there and make your voice heard! VOTE!"

After sharing her endorsement for the controversial politician, many critics took to a newly posted Reddit thread expressing their disapproval. One critic wrote, "She’s a bird, what a massive loser, imagine posting that and supporting that disgusting creep."

Another added, "She's a millionaire so it makes sense. Her status as part of the wealthy class will always precede her identity as a woman and person of color."

While a third wrote, "mama a hand that sexually assaulted at least 13 women behind you."

Someone else speculated, "I’m guessing she got paid to do this, which is pathetic." To which another person replied, "well her best friend is kim kardashian so i wouldn’t be surprised if they aligned politically."

But others thought Lala posted the endorsement on her own free will. Someone else wrote, "Unfortunately, I think she took the time out of her day to do this for free. Considering she’s no one of importance, good to know she can’t say she at least has values since her career isn’t booming."

The 67-year-old politician previously served as the 56th governor of New York from 2011 until his resignation in 2021 following numerous sexual misconduct allegations. Beginning in late 2020, Cuomo was hit with numerous allegations of sexual misconduct.

In the aftermath of these accusations, New York Attorney General Letitia James released an investigatory report that stated that Cuomo sexually harassed 11 different women during his time in office, highlighting inappropriate behavior such as unwanted groping, kissing, and sexual remarks.

Despite Lala's endorsement of Cuomo, Zohran Mamdani emerged victorious in the race securing 50.4% of the votes casted in New York. Cuomo was 9 points behind Mamdani, and secured a total of 41.6% of votes.
