LaTocha Scott and her sister Tamika have long had a rocky relationship, and now the former Xscape singer is opening up about their dynamic, which seemingly originated from drama within their group.

LaTocha Scott was just pleading for a reconciliation with her sister, Tamika, back in February when she dropped her “Residuals” freestyle. However, Scott is back on defense mode after calling out Tamika during her recent appearance on The Nene Leakes Show.
The gospel singer opened up about being “hurt” by Tamika when she didn’t support her decision to leave Xscape. The pain ran so deeply because — according to Scott — it was her who intervened on Tamika’s behalf after she got pregnant, and someone from Xscape’s team allegedly wanted to kick her out of the group.

Scott explained, “I remember when we were about to do ‘Understanding.’ The song was getting ready to come out, and she had gotten pregnant. And I’ll never forget. They were like, ‘Okay, we’re going to kick her out.’ That bothered me.”
She continued, “I felt a way, but I couldn’t give up on my sister. You know what I told them? She goes; I go. That could have been my whole career. I wouldn’t have been sitting here. You wouldn’t have been asking me about Xscape. Because that’s the love and the loyalty that I had. So does it hurt to know that? Yes. It’s deep. Very deep.”
When asked about what the future of Xscape looks like, Scott said there is a chance to get past this rift in their relationship, but it will require work.
“I think moving forward is talking, healing, being honest with one another, loving each other through it, forgiving, and moving forward […] At the end of the day, I think everybody deserves to be happy in whatever lane they wanna go in. I just hate that it’s come down to this,” she explained.
Scott left Xscape — seemingly for good — in late 2022 after filming SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B.
As far as getting kicked out of the group is concerned, Scott shared that she was unaware the group was headed out on tour and when things were being set up without her in mind, she got her lawyer involved and still was allegedly left out of the loop. “So, you tell me what that is if it’s not being kicked out,” she questioned.
The internal conflicts within Xscape played out onscreen during the six-episode series and Scott addressed the strife between herself, Tamika, and Xscape as part of the “Residuals” challenge. It seemed like the sisters were forging a path in the right direction, but things between them still appear to be in limbo.

I'm sorry, but this entire interview irritated my spirit. Never once did LaTocha take any accountability for her actions in regards to why she isn't in good standing with Tameka. Did you forget that according to your sister you stole $30,000 from her, and to this day you still deny the allegations?
She also told Nene that she owns the name Xscape. If she truly owned the name, with the help of her shady husband you would have stopped them from using Xscape as they continue to tour and split the money three ways.
She also knew it was a good thing to go on Nene's show, because I felt Nene hit her with some softball questions. I also felt that Nene relied too much on her cards, and was it me, or did it feel like at times she was reading like she never made it past the fifth grade?
I also felt that I didn't learn anything new from the interview, and Nene clearly didn't know enough about Tocha to push back on some of her answers, especially in regards to how she came off during R&B Divas and the reality show she did with SWV.
No one is denying LaTocha's impeccably talent. The reason why she rubs people the wrong way (and if you read the interview's YouTube comments) is because she refuses to humble herself to the point where she can be honest about why her relationship with her sister and the group is strained.
LaTocha is literally the Dawn Robinson of Xscape. Someone who can sing their ass off, but their ego is their achilles heel.
I also do not agree with Nene where she stated that they are sisters, and that they should stick by each other regardless of the circumstances. To protect your peace, you should not have to endure the emotional abuse or the passive aggressiveness of someone whether it comes from a family member or a significant other.
And to me it looks like Tameka was tired of being the bigger person and finally chose to protect her peace and her coins by cutting off toxic family members, and continuing to tour with Xscape.
So in closing, I say pay Tameka back her money, humbly come to your sister to apologize for your participation in the mess, and if all goes well sit with the group and ask them if you can come back to Xscape.
The problem with all of that is I don't feel LaTocha is woman enough to step outside of her own ego and detach herself from under Rocky's control to want to make it work with the other women.
