The news was announced on the festival's social media pages on Thursday morning.
"Over the past few days, we've been in close contact with Lil Nas X and his team regarding an ongoing medical issue," reads the announcement on Instagram. "Due to this we are sad to announce that Lil Nas X will no longer be able to perform at Outloud Music Festival at WeHo Pride."
The "Industry Baby" singer also shared a statement with the festival and his fans.
"After my recent hospital visit, I - like all of you should - must prioritize my health and getting back to 100%," the quote reads. "As it currently stands, I would not be able [to] perform that type of show my fans and community deserve. I am sorry! Even though I can't be there, I hope you all show OUT for Pride. Now more than ever, we need to be seen."
In April, Lil Nas X was hospitalized due to a case of partial facial paralysis, according to Rolling Stone.
"Soooo lost control of the right side of my face," the rapper wrote on Instagram alongside of video of him in a hospital gown bed. He did not reveal what caused the incident. It's unclear if this is directly linked to his current recovery.
Before the facial paralysis, Lil Nas X was in the midst of an album rollout for Dreamboy. After firing his team last fall, the rapper released new singles "Hotbox" and "Leon on my Body." The fate of Dreamboy is unclear.
Outloud concluded their announcement by wishing Lil Nas X a speedy recovery and announcing his replacement act.
"A HUGE thank you to rising queer star Remi Wolf for stepping in and joining us on our Main Stage. We can't wait to welcome Remi to Outloud at WeHo Pride."
Wolf will headline the festival along with previously announced acts Lizzo, Kim Petras, Pabllo Vittar, and more. The Outloud Music Festival at WeHo Pride runs May 31 to June 1, 2025 at the West Hollywood Park from 1 p.m. to midnight.
