Mary J. Blige stopped her Las Vegas residency performance on Wednesday, October 28, to confront a concertgoer who was booing from the audience, telling the person they did not have to attend and asking for them to be removed. The confrontation unfolded at Dolby Live at Park MGM, where the singer is performing her “My Life, My Story” residency. TMZ obtained video of the moment.

The iconic hitmaker, 55, who is currently entertaining crowds during her residency at MGM Resorts' Dolby Live Theater, lashed out at an unknown fan, accusing them of booing her before she began performing.

In an incendiary, expletive-laden video, the singer called out, 'To the b***h that's booing.

'You didn't have to come here so I hope someone sees you and politely removes you. What the f*** did you spend your money for you f*****g idiot!

'I'm sorry, sometimes I just gotta go in. Because that's where I'm from.'

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Blige for comment and has yet to hear back.

The residency is built around Blige’s decades in R&B and hip-hop soul. Its repertoire includes songs such as “Real Love,” “I’m Goin’ Down,” “Be Without You,” “Family Affair,” and “Just Fine.” Rather than focusing on a single album, the production moves through different chapters of her career with a live band, dancers, and elaborate staging.

Mary J. Blige launched the residency in May, marking her first extended Las Vegas engagement. A sold-out opening weekend prompted MGM Resorts to announce 10 additional performances, including the October 28 date. Dolby Live, the theater inside Park MGM, has a capacity of approximately 5,200, giving the production a different setting from the arena tours she has headlined.

Surprise appearances have been part of the residency since its opening weekend. MGM Resorts reported that The LOX, Method Man, Jadakiss and 50 Cent joined Blige during those early performances. Wyclef’s entrance on Wednesday continued that tradition of bringing fellow artists into a show designed around the singer’s catalog and musical history.

The concert series follows several career milestones for Blige. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024 and released her album “Gratitude” that November. Her “For My Fans” tour followed in 2025, before she brought the career-spanning show to Las Vegas this year.

Blige was previously married to Martin "Kendu" Isaacs, who was also her manager, from 2003 to 2018.

Blige previously said she could 'sense' her partner didn't want her anymore, and she was left 'suffering' by herself.

Speaking about her romance to radio show host Angie Martinez on Power 105.1, the No More Drama hitmaker said: 'I can sense that I'm not what you want anymore.'

'You start to realize that this man doesn't want you and he's just gone all the time and you're by yourself in the relationship.

'When you realize you're by yourself and you're just suffering through it, now it's time to do some investigating.'

'When I got the full proof, I didn't have to investigate it. It just showed up.'

Speaking previously, the musician said: 'I've finally got my life back. My fans have saved me. I have to keep going for them... I chose life. At anytime we all go through dark times.

'You might lose something when you make a positive choice and lose something when you make a negative choice, so for me it's best to just lose whatever you're going to lose to get your life back.'

'My fans have saved me too. It's only when you hear people's testimonies that "you saved my life" or "helped me get out of an abusive relationship" that you realize going through these hard times makes you stronger.'

In the 1990s, Blige spent six years in a relationship with singer Cedric "K-Ci" Hailey of the R&B group Jodeci.

She also briefly dated rapper Nas and musician Case.

Mary J. Blige is scheduled to return to Dolby Live on October 30 and 31, then perform five final dates on February 12, 13, 17, 19 and 20, 2027. The residency is expected to conclude February 20 after a 20-show run.
