A new trailer for Mortal Kombat II has been revealed, confirming that the highly anticipated video game movie sequel will finally unleash the titular tournament. Featuring more fatalities than ever before, fans of the iconic fighting franchise are getting what they have waited five years for after the first film released in 2021. They're also going to get a new lead in Karl Urban, who portrays the Hollywood actor-turned-warrior Johnny Cage in the upcoming action sequel.
Warner Bros. has released the new trailer for Mortal Kombat II, which is set to hit theaters on May 8. The footage, laced with a cinematic version of the iconic musical theme, showcases the jaw-dropping action the upcoming film has to offer. As with the previous teasers, the new trailer begins with Johnny Cage (Urban) being recruited into a blooldy tournament to determine the fate of the two realms. Of course, all the franchise icons are back, including Liu Kang (Ludi Lin) and Lord Raiden (Tadanobu Asano), both of whom show off their unique powers in the fatality-packed footage. Meanwhile, newcomers like Kitana (Adeline Rudolph), Barak (CJ Bloomfield) and villain Shao Kahn (Martyn Ford) are heavily featured as well. Watch it below:
