Netflix’s ‘One Piece’ Season 2 to Screen First Two Episodes in 200 Movie Theaters

First Stranger Things, and now One Piece. The manga-based series is the latest Netflix television project to get a theatrical release.
In conjunction with the premiere of the show’s second season on the streamer March 10, the first two episodes of Season 2 will head to the big screen the same day. The special screenings will take place in more than 200 theaters in the U..S, Canada, and Japan. Showings in the U.S. and Canada will be held at 6 p.m. local time.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, Feb. 26, at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET. A full list of theaters and showtimes in respective areas are available via the Netflix site set up for the occasion, and tickets can be downloaded there too. Theaters set to host these fan events in the U.S. include AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo and Cineplex, with additional theaters in Canada and Japan also joining in.

In Season 2 of the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga series, Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar) travel to the Grand Line, a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. There, they’ll visit bizarre islands, recruit more allies, and battle formidable new foes as they search for the world’s greatest treasure.
Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton Season 2) has joined the main cast of Season 2 as Miss Wednesday. Additional cast includes Anton David Jeftha, Brendan Sean Murray, Callum Kerr, Camrus Johnson, Clive Russell, Daniel Lasker, David Dastmalchian, James Hiroyuki Liao, Jazzara Jaslyn, Joe Manganiello, Julia Rehwald, Katey Sagal, Lera Abova, Mark Harelik, Mark Penwill, Mikaela Hoover, Rigo Sanchez, Rob Colletti, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Sophia Anne Caruso, Ty Keogh, Werner Coetser and Yonda Thomas.
Season 2 of One Piece is co-showrun by writers and executive producers Matt Owens and Joe Tracz. Still more excutive producers include Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements through Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, and Steven Maeda.
The theatrical release treatment was also given to the series finale of Stranger Things, timed to the New Year’s Eve release of the two hour plus episode as well.
