Two unexpected worlds have collided online, with Elon Musk and Nicki Minaj having a bizarre interaction on X. The world's richest man is known for keeping himself busy as the overlord of X, CEO of Tesla, and trying to get us back to the Moon.
While he spent the start of the year embedding himself in American politics as the Head of the Department of Government Efficiency, his short stint ended in an explosive way. Never one to hold his tongue online, Musk took issue with Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act and spectacularly claimed the President of the United States was named in the redacted Epstein Files.
Although you might not typically think Elon Musk and Nicki Minaj would move in the same social circles, she's sparked speculation that the "Anaconda" singer is part of the MAGA movement.
Things started when the POTUS posted on Truth Social and promised he'd go in 'guns-a-blazing' if the Nigerian government continued ‘allowing’ attacks against Christians.
Originally born in the Caribbean country of Trinidad, the rapper responded by sharing a screenshot and writing an extensive post that included: "Thank you to the President and his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”
Minaj especially faced backlash from her LGBTQ+ fans, and with her being quiet in the past about her voting allegiances, others have accused her of being a 'secret' Republican.
More eyebrows were raised when she replied to Musk with an ominous message, shortly after the tech billionaire started the week by explaining various 'problems' the world needs to solve.
An oddly positive Musk said that there needs to be things that inspire us to get up in the morning, adding: "Earth is the cradle of humanity but you cannot stay in the cradle of humanity. It is time to go forth, become a star-faring civilization.
"Be out there among the stars. Stand the scope and scale of human consciousness. I find that incredibly exciting. That makes me glad to be alive. I hope you feel the same."
This feels like a nod to the Artemis mission progress and Musk repeatedly saying he wants to colonize Mars in the next few decades.
Seemingly throwing her support behind the billionaire, Minaj reposted the video and captioned it with: "Life can not just be about solving one miserable problem after another. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽✨🚀🛸🔭 Speak Elon, we’re listening."

It wasn't just the wider X community that noticed the exchange, as Musk gave a wink to one of her songs as he responded: "Starships were meant to fly 🚀."
Minaj hit back at critics of her praising Trump, and in a fiery response, wrote: "Imagine hearing that Christians are being MURDERED & making it about you being gay.”
“When my home was swatted multiple times with my innocent toddler inside (with maybe 20 officers with guns drawn pointed at our home due to political corruption), you being gay couldn’t save me.
"Expecting someone to stay oppressed, abused, targeted, harassed & CONSISTENTLY ignored by public figures who were supposed to be helping them says more about you than it does anyone else."
She has since deleted her praise of the President.
As for her chatting with Musk, one person wrote: "Praising Trump and Elon Musk in same week. Oh she is definitely gone y'all💔 How you are a gay icon and republican at the same time?"
Another added: "Strangest rebrand ever. I'm here to watch it play out."
A third said: "Daaamn they bought the full propaganda package."
