Paris Jackson wants to be excused from the narrative that she was involved in Michael Jackson‘s biopic, and is calling Colman Domingo out for his recent comments about her.

The two appeared at the Venice Film Festival last weekend, where Paris performed at the prestigious amfAR benefit gala. Confusion arose, however, after Domingo suggested she and her brother, Prince, were directly involved in the project.

Speaking to People ahead of the festival, Domingo said, “They’re very much in support of our film.” He added, “I’m excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that’s a nice way for us to be together.”

Domingo went further, calling Paris “very helpful” and describing Prince as “a man of the film.”

However, Paris Jackson took to Instagram shortly after the remarks surfaced, directly contradicting the actor’s narrative.

“@kingofbingo don’t be telling people I was helpful on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird,” she wrote in an Instagram story.

In a follow-up post, the 27 year-old elaborated, further distancing herself from the project, all together:

“I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my thoughts on what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys not my circus. God bless and god speed.”

Despite Domingo’s optimism, it’s clear the Jackson children are not fully on board with the biopic, which is currently slated for an April 2026 release.

Michael will feature Paris and Prince’s cousin, Jaafar, in the starring role as their father, but its release has been delayed on multiple occasions. Earlier this year, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer hinted that the film could be pushed back again, but promised that the official promotional rollout is currently in the works.
