Is Pedro Pascal Dating Creative Director Rafael Olarra? Men Spotted Linking Arms in New York Spark Rumors

Pedro Pascal and Rafael Olarra were snapped in New York City over the weekend ... and TMZ has pics of them linking arms on their way to grab a Sunday lunch.

Reports are swirling about a potential romance brewing between two prominent Chileans. Actor Pedro Pascal recently spent time with Rafael Olarra. Since news broke of Pascal’s weekend activities, many outlets have erroneously confused Olarra with a 47-year-old former Chilean soccer player with the same name.

Pascal’s Olarra, who is 42 and was never a pro athlete, was born in Argentina and studied at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires.

Since 2015, Olarra has been the art director at the luxurious Faena Hotel chain, which has properties in Miami, Buenos Aires, New York and Tulum, Mexico.

Based in Miami, he’s been the creative force developing the Faena District, a 6-block Miami Beach neighborhood featuring hotels, residences, restaurants, nightlife and the Faena Forum arts center.

Part of his job has him collaborating with celebrities and artists, with a recent Faena event spotlighting the one and only Cher.

“I’m in charge of all the visual aspects of the property. This means that some days I’m doing interior design for a public space and on another I’m building an art installation for the forum. It’s really varied,” Olarra told the fashion brand Orlebar Brown.

“One moment I can be doing a show for the theatre then the next I’m creating the content for social media or the newsletter. The busier I am, the happier I am. Over the years, I’ve become an expert at problem solving. I love it. It never stresses me.”

The famed actor has often been outspoken about politicians while also advocating for numerous causes. The Last of Us actor and Rafael were both born in Chile’s capital, Santiago. Pedro has often kept his personal life to himself, rarely, if ever, sharing it in interviews.

TMZ reports that they were linking arms while on the way to lunch in New York City. The two were dressed rather dapper for the occasion, doing some sightseeing on the Lower East Side of Manhattan before grabbing a bite to eat.

If true, it wouldn’t be the first time Rafael takes a shine to an actor. The 47-year-old former centre-back previously dated singer and actor Luke Evans. They confirmed their split in 2021. Following his retirement from football, Rafael dated model and presenter Lucila Vit. In September of 2021, they announced they would be parents, with Lucila giving birth to a daughter in April 2022.

Among the issues Pedro has advocated for publicly are LGBTQ+ rights. His sister, Lux Pascal, previously came out as transgender. Earlier this month, Pedro was confirmed to star in the revived gay romance film De Noche. He replaces Joaquin Phoenix, who backed out of the project just days before production began.

Rafael became a football commentator and host for Fox Sports Chile until 2019 before joining ESPN. Pedro will star in the upcoming Star Wars film The Mandalorian and Grogu, which will be released in theatres in May.
