'Real Housewives' Star Facing Backlash After Sharing Controversial Post About The Murder Of Charlie Kirk

Eileen Davidson from Bravo's "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" is facing intense backlash from social media users after sharing a controversial post about right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed last week in Orem, Utah.

“Just for the record people? I never ever in 1 million years would celebrate the assassination of anybody ever,” Davidson, 66, wrote via X on Sunday, September 14. “Please don’t twist things around.”

Davidson’s clarification comes after she reportedly reposted a message on social media about Kirk’s death. The post, which has since been taken down, read, “I am not in support of what happened to Charlie Kirk but Charlie Kirk was in support of what happened to Charlie Kirk,” per the Daily Mail.

When one user pointed out that the original tweet was taken down, Davidson replied, “I stand by my post, sweetie.”

Davidson, who also currently stars on the soap opera The Young and the Restless, has been outspoken against President Donald Trump’s administration and other conservative politicians online.

Kirk, who was a conservative commentator and cofounder of Turning Point USA, died on September 10 after being shot in the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was 31.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we, the Turning Point USA leadership team, write to notify you that early this afternoon, Charlie went to his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in Heaven,” read a statement from Turning Point.

The activist is survived by his wife, Erika Kirk, and their two children. A public memorial for Charlie will be held on Sunday, September 21, at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium.

Charlie’s passing has garnered a lot of media attention as he was a controversial figure. Many stars, including Morgan Wallen and Candace Cameron Bure, have publicly shared their condolences following the tragedy. While many have mourned Charlie, there has been tense discourse online about the influencer.

MSNBC political analyst Matthew Dowd was fired from the network after he described Charlie as “one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures” during live coverage of his killing. Network president Rebecca Kutler condemned Dowd’s comments, deeming them as “inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable.”

“We apologize for his statements, as has he,” Kutler said in a statement. “There is no place for violence in America, political or otherwise.”

Following his firing, Dowd took to social media to apologize and clarify his remarks.

“Let me be clear, I in no way intended for my comments to blame Kirk for this horrendous attack,” the journalist wrote via X. “Let us all come together and condemn violence of any kind.”

I have no issue with what Eileen said. How is it hard to comprehend that Eileen's 1st tweet is addressing accountability? When you put negative energy out in the universe, saying that ppl should die by guns so we can keep the 2nd amendment, you're actually surprised he was gunned down?
