RuPaul’s Drag Race ‘Fan Favorite’ Wants to Return For All Stars After Coming Out as Trans

Back in 2019 Valentina told The Gay Times that she has no interest in competing on Drag Race because she sees drag as art and not a competition. What a difference six years makes, because the perfectly beautiful Linda Evangelista clone is ready to sashay back into the Drag Race werk room.

Valentina, who was famously dubbed “fan favourite” by her fellow Drag Race season nine queens after winning the season’s coveted “Miss Congeniality” title, has said that she has “matured” enough for a re-do.

The drag star, who recently came out as a transgender woman as she celebrated her 34th birthday, explained to Monét X Change in a recent episode of web show The Pit Stop that she was ready for a comeback.

She and Monét were discussing episode six of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10, and the new All Stars 10 format which sees queens giving out a point to one of their competitors at the end of each challenge.

Talking about the possibility of receiving zero points, Valentina joked: “Even though on camera it says zero, in my mind I’m like, it says I have more than everyone. I gave myself all the points already.”

She affirmed that if she were to go back to All Stars, she would feel comfortable being as shady as All Stars 10 competitor Mistress Isabelle Brooks, who has recently been called out by her cast mates for her trickery and tomfoolery.

“I’ve just matured a bit, just a little bit,” she said, before Monét questioned whether she would be up for making another All Stars appearance.

“I would love the opportunity to go back. It’s ‘cos you see I have so much fun with the camera,” she replied.

Valentina was beloved by the Drag Race fandom during her original tenure on season nine in 2017, before she was shockingly eliminated in seventh place for not knowing the words to Ariana Grande’s song, “Greedy”.

She returned for All Stars 4 in 2019, but was once again eliminated in seventh place. The season was eventually won by Monét X Change and Valentina’s season nine sister, Trinity The Tuck.

Valentina came out as a trans woman in a moving post on her Instagram page in May.

“Hello everyone, it’s me Valentina Xunaxi,” she wrote, alongside several photos of herself.

“Today is my bday. I turn 34. For some time now I’ve been in transition, I’ve been doing it privately but today I wanted to open and share with you all.

“Along the way I’ve felt pressure to come forward so I’ve decided and wanted to take today to declare myself as a transgender woman.

“I welcome all the love, support and protection from my dear fans. Thank you so much.”

All Stars 10 continues on Paramount+ on Fridays in the US and WOW Presents Plus internationally.
