Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee), Jack O’Connell (Eden Lake), Wunmi Mosaku (“Loki”), Jayme Lawson (The Batman), Omar Benson Miller (“CSI: Miami”), and Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods) round out the cast.
Sinners opened at #1 at the box office to the tune of $48 million, scoring the biggest opening for an original movie since Jordan Peele’s Us in 2019. It has since grossed over $135 million domestically and another $40 million internationally.
Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “The careful curation of character-building pays off dividends. When the horror kicks into high gear, the deaths come fast and furious. And the deaths devastate. Coogler’s first foray into horror shows a keen understanding that the key ingredient to ensuring the scares land and the suspense leaves you on edge is making you care about the characters.”
