‘Scream 7’ Trailer – Sidney Prescott Battles Ghostface Alongside Daughter Tatum Prescott

ree

The original final girl is back!

Neve Campbell is back as Sidney Prescott, with the character taking center stage in the seventh installment, and she’ll be joined by returning players including David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Scott Foley and Matthew Lillard, with Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown also set to reprise their roles from the previous two installments.

Here’s the new plot synopsis: “When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.”

This particular Ghostface? He’s gonna burn it all down.

Set two years after Scream VI, Scream 7 is being directed by original Scream writer Kevin Williamson from a script by Guy Busick (Scream 2022, Scream VI) and Williamson.

The cast for next year’s Scream 7 also includes Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons and Mark Consuelos.

Matthew Lillard recently teased, “I’m thrilled to be back. The movie’s fantastic, and I’m really excited for people to see it. It’s not gonna ruin the franchise, that’s the good news.”

You might recognize his voice in the trailer’s final moments…

*****

I'm really glad to see our final girl Sydney Prescott back on the big screen again. She's moved on to a new town called Pine Grove, and has her own coffee business called The Little Latte Coffee Co.

I also liked seeing a lot of chase sequences in the trailer, which we have been lacking in the franchise for quite some time.

I also thought the panic room sequence was pretty intense, and it felt like a call back to Jennifer Jolie's death scene in Scream 3. It was also great seeing Gale, Chad and Mindy back in the franchise, and I hope they will explain what happened to the Carpenter sisters.

Now let's get to the meat of the trailer. Do I think that Stu is back, since we hear his voice at the end of the trailer, and we see his house burn in the beginning of the trailer? I truly believe that Stu is dead.

What I do believe is that the killer(s) are using past killers to get revenge against Sydney, and the big theory is that they believe SPOILER ALERT Leslie Macher aka Stu's sister may be behind the kills.

I'm looking forward to getting to know Tatum's character (played by Isabel May) in the next trailer, since I think it was smart for the first trailer to focus on letting the fans know that Sidney is back.
