'SNL' Taps Connor Storrie of 'Heated Rivalry' as Next Host

Talk about someone "heating" up in Hollywood.

Connor Storrie will host Saturday Night Live for the first time February 28, the late-night show revealed during tonight’s show. Alongside him will be musical guest Mumford & Sons.

The Heated Rivalry star has seen a meteoric rise to fame alongside his co-star Hudson Williams, going from little-known working actor to Golden Globes presenter, Olympic torchbearer and appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers and front row at YSL’s Paris Fashion Week show. (He is also the French luxury fashion house’s newest ambassador.)

Storrie will be a first-time host, and it seemed inevitable the performer — whose best-known role prior to the breakout Crave Canada hit was in Joker: Folie à deux, where he is credited as Young Inmate — would take the Studio 8H stage. Outside of acting, Storrie, who plays Russian hockey phenom Ilya Rozanov in the Jacob Tierney-created drama, has been vocal about being involved in the clown scene in Los Angeles, and as such, seems primed to take to the sketch show with ease. SNL spoofed Heated Rivalry upon its midseason return, in a sketch that featured host Finn Wolfhard and cast member Ben Marshall as Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, respectively, in a sendup called “Heated Wizardry.”

If Meyers’ statement about the high demand for personal ticket requests for Storrie’s appearance — dwarfed only by Taylor Swift’s late-night showing — is any indication, 30 Rock will be positively shaking with cheers upon his debut.

SNL will be off air until February 28, and it airs live on NBC and Peacock, Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT. The storied late-night show is produced in association with creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video.
