‘Soul Train Awards’ Revived After Three-Year Pause, Set to Return This November on Both BET and CBS

Somewhere up above, Don Cornelius is celebrating the return of love, peace and soul: BET is bringing back the “Soul Train Awards,” three years after the kudocast was put on pause.

The awards show that honors the best in R&B, hip-hop, soul and gospel will air Friday, November 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET and, for the first time, will simulcast on CBS. It also will stream on BET Her, VH1, MTV2 and Logo.

The awards show last aired in 2023 and was put on hold in 2024 and 2025. In 2025, former BET CEO Scott Mills told Billboard that they decided to suspend both the Soul Train Awards and the BET Hip-Hop Awards in order to revamp them to adapt to the changing digital and streaming landscape. “But we have a team that’s actively thinking about where those award shows might best live as the media climate continues to evolve. They aren’t gone,” Mills said at the time.

Jesse Collins Entertainment is returning to produce the show. Connie Orlando serves as the executive producer for Soul Train Awards 2026 for BET. Collins, Dionne Harmon and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay also serve as executive producers.
