Celebrities already have a lot of work to do to prove to the public that they're not out of touch with reality and James Charles' recent video didn't do much to help that.
YouTuber and make-up artist James Charles took to TikTok recently to criticize Amber Lendof Vargas, who had launched a GoFundMe after she was let go from her job at Spirit Airlines after the travel company shut down due to bankruptcy.
Millions of people across the world are struggling to pay their bills and losing a job can be devastating for those who don't have significant amounts of money to spare, something which many celebrities will never truly understand.
Vargas took a chance and sent a DM to Charles asking for his help but the YouTuber sadly took the opportunity to tear her down publicly.
He said: “I just got a DM from a girl on here that said, ‘Good morning James, I know you’ll never see this but if you could just take on minute to read it would really mean a lot to me. I’m really struggling right now because Spirit Airlines just filed for bankruptcy, and I just lost my job. Here’s a GoFuudMe link. Any donations help’.”
The American influencer added: "I’m sure they do, sweetheart, I’m sure they do. You know what else would help you? Getting another job. Try that, because in the time it took you to copy and paste the same f**k ass message to me, who you don’t follow by the way and to 100 other influencers and celebrities, you could’ve applied to a hundred other jobs because you’re a lazy piece of s**t and you’re entitled. Why would I ever help you?”

Unsurprisingly, Charles' aggressive approach saw him face a lot of criticism, and he quickly sent an apology message, which she has in turn publicly exposed.
He wrote: “Hi Amber. I wanted to reach out privately with an apology for the video I made. It was disgraceful and completely unnecessary, and there is no excuse for me yelling at and berating someone for asking for help in a s***ty situation that was completely out of your control.
“I’m so sorry for adding to what was already a distressing time, I’m so ashamed for not only the video, but also for being so disgustingly out of touch. I was sent your video today and was so glad to see your GoFundMe has exploded, but I also know that getting attention online can be scaring overwhelming, especially when you never asked for it in the first place.”

Spirit Airlines employee Amber, who was recently laid off, did not accept an apology from beauty influencer James Charles. The woman stated that she refused to respond to a private message because of the way he embarrassed her in front of his millions of followers.
One of many recently laid off, Amber spoke on TikTok about the incident in which James attacked her GoFundMe page in a post he later deleted.
“I do not accept his apology. Hell no, especially because he was very public with what he said, and [he] thought it was OK to message me privately,” Amber stated in the clip.
In the deleted post, Charles criticized the girl. “You know what else would help you? Getting another job. Try that. You didn’t because you’re a lazy piece of sh*t and you’re entitled and you think influencers and celebrities should fund your life for you,” he said.

James later issued a public apology for his comments in the video, calling his actions “obnoxious,” “privileged,” “rude,” and “stupid.” Furthermore, he also messaged Amber privately and asked her to forgive him, as he provided a screenshot in his TikTok response.
“I’m so sorry for adding to what was already a distressing time. I’m ashamed of myself, I’m so ashamed [not] only [of] the video, but also for being so disgustingly out of touch,” Charles wrote in a direct message.
Furthermore, the man noted that he had read many posts from people whose lives were negatively affected by layoffs. “Also, fully understand if you never want to hear from me again. I genuinely wish you all the best and hope you’re doing OK,” he ended the apology.
However, Amber did not think that James’ private apology meant anything.
“He apologized in private after embarrassing me publicly. Some damage doesn’t disappear just because you finally feel guilty. I heard the apology. I just don’t accept it,” she said.
