This year was the year that YouTubers took over Hollywood, with popular online creators like Markiplier, Curry Barker, and Kane Parsons hitting big with their debut horror movies in theaters. Every major studio is looking for the next popular YouTuber who can translate their online success into box office success, but many of them aren’t sitting around waiting for Hollywood.
Twenty three horror-loving YouTubers have gotten together to create Tales from the Tube, a new “YouTuber Horror Anthology” novel that’s now crowd-funding over on Kickstarter.
Tales from the Tube launched on Kickstarter earlier this month and has already smashed through its $10,000 initial goal, raising $10,950 at the time of this article being written.
The team previews, “What happens when you take 23 YouTube creators, remove the cameras, editing software, thumbnails and algorithms, and give them nothing but a blank page? Then tell them: SCARE US. No cameras. No editing. No production crews. No algorithm. Just the story. Twenty-three creators accepted the challenge. The result is Tales from the Tube.”
Tales from the Tube is an original horror anthology bringing together creators from 23 YouTube channels to tell 23 completely original horror stories, with no generative A.I. anywhere in sight.
