The View has been accused of 'purposefully avoiding' any mention of ABC's suspension of Jimmy Kimmel's talk show after the hosts failed to address the elephant in the room. But according to Page Six they weren’t ordered to steer clear of the stunning news.

Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sarah Haines, Joy Behar, and Alyssa Farrah Griffin said nothing about the biggest TV story of week during their live Thursday broadcast.
But while both are ABC shows, an insider told us the ladies “were not silenced.”
“They were not told not to discuss it,” the source said.
The insider suggested that the ladies may have been waiting for Kimmel to speak out, as they did when CBS pulled the plug on Stephen Colbert and the “Late Show” franchise in July. “It’s an ongoing story and hot topics are discussed daily,” they said.

Friday’s episode of “The View” was filmed on Thursday afternoon, but it’s unclear if they tackled the topic of Kimmel.
Meanwhile, ABC insiders are incensed that the network didn’t protect Kimmel by editing his monologue, in which he said of Charlie Kirk’s alleged murderer, Tyler Robinson, “The MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

Kimmel has been a searing critiic of the president, and the remark was used to pressure Disney, which owns ABC, to shelve his show.
“ABC is stupid,” one network source fumed to the New York Post. “They should have edited Kimmel. They know [President Donald] Trump is after him. Their standards department should have flagged it. They should have known better.”
Nexstar Media Group, which is a main owner of ABC affiliates, announced it wouldn’t air him on their stations. Meanwhile, Sinclair Broadcasting said they’re also pulling him from its stations unless he apologizes to Kirk’s family and donates to his political activist group.
A rep for “The View” did not comment.

I'm calling BS on The View saying they weren't told not to discuss it. Trump has said some disparaging things about the hit chatfest for a long time, especially towards Joy Behar, who has called him out many of times on his authoritative ideologies. I do believe the ladies are scared, and do not want to end up unemployed. So for now they're avoiding this story like the plague.
