The Tony Awards has extended its long-standing relationship with CBS as the live TV home of the theatrical honors through 2032. And get out your calendar, because a date for the upcoming 80th Annual Tony Awards has been set: June 13, 2027.
The Tonys have broadcast live on CBS to both coasts since 1978. Today's commitment to continuing that setup comes against the backdrop of a rapidly changing network TV landscape. With more and more people ditching cable for streamers, some major awards ceremonies have moved online; Hollywood's Academy Awards have already announced plans to depart network TV in favor of YouTube beginning in 2029, and the Tonys already broadcast a pre-show exclusively via ad-supported streamer Tubi.
The ceremony will continue to stream live for Premium-level subscribers of Paramount+ via its live CBS feed. Ceremonies typically become available for on demand viewing for all Paramount+ subscribers beginning the day after the live broadcast.

“We are thrilled to extend our long-standing partnership with CBS," share The American Theatre Wing President and CEO Heather Hitchens and The Broadway League President Jason Laks in a statement—the annual honors are jointly produced by the Wing, League, and Tony Awards Productions. "For the past 48 years, we have collaborated with CBS to bring the best of Broadway to theatre fans all around the world, and we look forward to marking the 80th anniversary of the Tony Awards with our best show yet."
"CBS has a celebrated history of supporting the creative arts on television and the Tony Awards are a cornerstone of that past, present and future,” adds CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach. "George Cheeks and I are thrilled to extend the Network’s 48-year partnership with the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League and showcase the extraordinary talent, unforgettable performances, and incomparable energy of Broadway to viewers across the country for years to come."
Producers Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall, and Jack Sussman will serve as producers of the 2027 ceremony after taking the reigns for this year's Tonys. Kapoor and Levine Hall will serve as co-showrunners with Patrick Menton and Rob Paine as co-executive producers and Menton as head of talent.
