Trixie Mattel will return to the spotlight as host of the 14th Annual Queerties Awards. The ceremony takes place March 10 at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles and will stream exclusively on WOW Presents Plus beginning March 19.
The Queerties honor the best in LGBTQ+ entertainment, pop culture and activism, with winners chosen entirely by audience vote. Produced by Q.Digital, the LGBTQ+-owned media company behind Queerty, the awards remain the only major pop culture ceremony decided solely by queer audiences.
Since its debut in 2012, the Queerties have become a marquee celebration of LGBTQ+ achievement, with last year’s edition drawing nearly two million votes from Queerty’s readership.
“The Queerties gives voice to the LGBTQ+ community,” said Scott Gatz, CEO of Q.Digital. “It is the only pop culture awards show where queer people vote for the talent and creatives they feel will have the most lasting impact on the next generation of queer youth. We’re thrilled to have Trixie Mattel host this milestone celebration.”
The awards cover more than 25 categories spanning film, television, music, literature, social media and activism, highlighting both established figures and rising stars. Categories include “Badass,” honoring standout LGBTQ+ newsmakers, and “Breakout Musical Artist,” recognizing those who made major strides in the past year. The list of nominees can be found here.

Mattel follows in the footsteps of past Queerties hosts including Jinkx Monsoon, Bob the Drag Queen and Bianca Del Rio.
“I heard that this year for the Queerties host they were going with ‘pretty,’ and Margot Robbie is busy doing ‘Barbie: The Empire Strikes Back,’ so I’m happy to step in,” Mattel joked in a statement.
A winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” Season 3, Mattel has become one of the franchise’s most successful alumni. Her credits include the documentary “Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts,” the Discovery+ renovation series “Trixie Motel,” a Billboard Heatseekers No. 1 album, and the long-running YouTube series “UNHhhh” with Katya, who also co-hosts the podcast “The Bald and the Beautiful.”
Mattel is the founder of Trixie Cosmetics, a New York Times bestselling author and a touring performer whose recent projects include her Solid Pink Disco DJ tour, with appearances at Coachella, OutLoud and as an opener for Chappell Roan.
Nominees for the Queerties are chosen by Queerty’s editorial team, with winners voted on by readers. Voting is open now through Feb. 17. For the first time, tickets to the live ceremony will be available, going on sale Feb. 18.
