Usher Weighs In On Potential Verzuz Battle Against Chris Brown

For the past few years he's been keeping a low profile, but as of late Usher has been quite the busy bee.

He recently showed Verzuz R&B vocal messes Omarion, Ray J, Bobby V, Sammie, and Pleasure P the art of showmanship and vocal strength during his must-see Tiny Desk concert on YouTube (which unexpectedly launched some pretty funny memes).

He's also wowing audiences with his extended Las Vegas residency, and is featured on the new City Girls single.

Speaking of Verzuz, the R&B icon is weighing in on a potential battle against Chris Brown, who could definitely use the publicity since no one is buying his music.

During a recent interview with E! News, the singer says while he's seen the fake flyers announcing their battle, Usher says he has no plans to participate in a battle against Chris or any other artist for that matter.

“It’s not official. No, we’re not doing that,” Usher confirmed. “But I can appreciate what I see.”

He didn’t explain why, only saying, “I don’t think y’all ready for nothing like that.”

However, he did hint at the possibility of a live element. “You might be ready for something like that on stage, maybe in the future. Stay tuned,” he added.

Personally speaking when I look at people like Usher, Missy Elliott, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé and Bhsta Rhymes, to name a few, no one in my opinion can battle them in a Verzuz.

Usher's body of work will wash Chris Brown any day of the week, so while it would be entertaining for the culture, Usher is making the right decision by not partaking in Verzuz, which has been a mess as of late.
