'90s Actress Calls on Perez Hilton to 'Make Amends' to Those He Hurt After He Almost Died in the Hospital

Former Sex and the City star Kristen Johnston has called on Perez Hilton to “make amends” to those he has hurt following his recent hospitalization for sepsis.

Kristen Johnston, best known as part of the main cast of the extraterrestrial comedy 3rd Rock From The Sun, wrote in a since-deleted post on Threads that Hilton, 48, needs to 'make amends' to the women he had allegedly hurt with his bruising gossip blogging, according to Us Weekly.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Hilton for comment.

'Many years ago my guts [were] basically ripped open as a result of my longterm abuse of opiates. (I wrote a whole book about it called GUTS),' wrote the 58-year-old actress on Wednesday. 'I got clean, it took a long time to recover from all of it mentally & physically. I was extremely underweight for about a year, nauseous & barely able to eat. It was horrible.'

She accused Hilton of writing 'the meanest s*** about me & my weight' and 'making fun of how I looked,' which she claimed 'led to a vicious social media pile-on by his followers, which really sucked at the time.'

According to Johnston, it was learning that Hilton had 'been very sick & has found Jesus' that dredged up her painful memories of reading Hilton's posts about her years earlier.

She tossed out a small olive branch, writing of Hilton's recovery: 'Good for him & I hope he gets healthy.'

However, she added that she would 'never forget how casually & relentlessly he’d attack women & young girls in the 2000s & how terrible it felt to be made fun of by him while I struggled through the darkest time of my life.'

Johnston said she hoped that if Hilton had 'truly changed,' his transformation would go 'beyond words' and that he would try to 'make amends for his cruelty.'

'I know he hurt a lot of people,' Johnston wrote.

The actress got affirmations from other women in the spotlight, including the DJ Samantha Ronson, who infamously dated Lindsay Lohan when her behavior was a regular topic for gossip bloggers like Hilton.

'F*** him forever,' Ronson bluntly wrote in the comments, according to Us Weekly.

The comedian Elayne Boosler joked that 'Poor Jesus gets stuck with all these a******s.'

Dumb And Dumber actress Lauren Holly offered her support to Johnston, writing, 'How brutal. I’m sorry you went through any of that. You are so strong.'

Johnston's criticism of Hilton comes after he revealed the mystery illness that sent him to the hospital for three weeks.

On Monday morning, the blogger took to social media to share the news with his fans after he teased it for several days.

In a video posted to YouTube, he said his own 'stupidity' led to his illness.

'My stupidity landed me in the hospital for 21 days... It was the worst and best thing that's ever happened to me,' he began.

Hilton said he had the flu for a week and took his medication, but did not take it with food.

'Because I have been taking all of this medication without food for a week, I developed an ulcer then a perforation and then Sepsis. People die of Sepsis.'

He also said he had intense stomach pain then could not walk causing him to have to be taken to the emergency room by ambulance.

Hilton thanked the hospital that took care of him — Southern Hills Hospital — as he added he had ultrasounds before they could figure out the problem. 'Finally after five days I ended up having laparoscopic surgery,' he added.

He also said the infection was very serious, and he had fluid in his lungs, which led to another major procedure. At that point, he developed a heart problem.

But the surgery was complicated as he developed another infection in the hospital, which he said was common.

The star also broke down in tears several times as he detailed he had many accidents after he started eating food following weeks on a feeding tube.

And the worst part was a tube that was placed in him to suck up the infection and a Foley catheter. 'That was intense,' he added, as he said he lost 'a lot of weight.'

'Now that I am home, I am not 100 percent,' he also shared as he showed a pick line into his arm. 'It's like a scary IV with two lines, and one goes to my heart.'

Before his reveal he said: 'One of the best experiences about this was God presented himself to me... then He did something, something that I can only call miraculous, it was real,' he said adding he grew up Catholic but was never a believer until now and he is 'grateful' for the experience.

This meeting with God has led to him wanting to take his children to church and enroll them in a Catholic school, added Hilton.

The star went on to talk about growing up in Cuba and not coming out to his father before his death. He broke down in tears when he talked about how his father was his 'everything.'

Also in the video, Hilton said that he will not be working as hard as he used to and will make sure he sleeps at least eight hours a night. In the past, he relied on 'four to five hours a night of sleep.'

He also talked at length about the joy of coming home to his children: 'They were so worried about their dad,' he added.

The star said he was 'ashamed' to work so hard to provide for his children but now he will slow down to have dinner with his kids every night.

And he thanked his sister, who flew from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to help take care of him, and his mother.

Hilton also said he watched a lot of TV while in the hospital as he mentioned Britney Spears' arrest, Chuck Norris' death and the video of Taylor Frankie Paul which he found 'disturbing.'

He ended with, 'I am back and I send you all love.'

Last week the star, who is known for launching his celebrity gossip blog in 2004, appeared frail as he revealed to fans that he was recently hospitalized for a mysterious health crisis.

The photos show Hilton with scars on his stomach, a plastic tube in his nose and an oxygen mask on as he wore a hospital gown.

One image showed the blogger with an oxygen mask over his face while others captured his mother visiting him. He sat in a chair next to the hospital bed while both he and his mom flashed a small smile towards the camera. She also sweetly adjusted a pillow that was behind her son to make sure that he was comfortable.

Hilton was gifted balloons that had 'Hang In There... Get Well Soon' printed on the front.

In the caption of the post, he simply typed out: 'March madness indeed! Have I got a story to tell!'

The TV personality later uploaded a separate video that contained a montage of short reels as he filmed himself from the hospital bed.

He explained in a voiceover that he relocated to the city of Las Vegas three years earlier and received the 'best care' at Southern Hills Hospital.

Hilton gave a special shout out to the doctors and nurses that were by his side and said, 'I would not be home already if it weren't for you.'

The star additionally added to his followers that he will further talk about the health 'saga that I went through soon in full detail.'

'You are angels, all of you at @southernhillshospitallv!' he penned in the caption of the clip.

Social media users and celebrities jumped into the comment sections to offer their well-wishes to Hilton.

Former Playboy bunny Holly Madison wrote, 'I hope you are ok,' while singer Bebe Rexha added, 'Perez!!!!'

Hilton notably launched his celebrity gossip blog back in 2004 which was originally called PageSixSixSix.com. Shortly after, he changed the name to PerezHilton.com.

He has also befriended a number of Hollywood celebrities.

He had garnered furious criticism for 'bullying' the Baby One More Time hitmaker - after he previously called her an 'unfit mother.'

He also released a shirt design on his website in 2008 which questioned why the pop star didn't die instead of Heath Ledger.

The shirt had an image of Ledger from his role in Brokeback Mountain as well as the words: 'Why couldn't it have been Britney?'

'I regret a lot or most of what I said about Britney as I'm sure Piers [Morgan] would if he were here about things he's said in the past,' Hilton said during an interview on Good Morning Britain.

The media personality added that he has grown over the years and expressed, 'Thankfully, hopefully, many of us get older and wiser.'

Hilton is still active about sharing celebrity news and gossip, but also puts focus into raising his three children.

He is dad to Mario, 13, Mia, 10, and Mayte, eight - whom he welcomed via surrogate.

'All kids are mine genetically. Each was born thanks to the generosity of a different surrogate, using eggs from the same anonymous donor,' he wrote in an essay for the HuffPost in 2017.

The star later added, 'While I don't rule out adoption in the future, for me it was important to have kids with my DNA.

'My dad passed away when I was 15 and having my children is a way of him living on through them - literally. My family is definitely unconventional and that's awesome!'
