In 2024, the “Real Housewives of New York City” star claimed in a lawsuit that show boss Cohen had snorted cocaine with other cast members, and that producers pressured her to fall off the wagon.
Now she claims in the court papers that he abused his power to “direct or induce” an army of Bravo stars to “claim that McSweeney is a liar” in the press.
The papers filed in New York Supreme Court late Wednesday night claim that “in direct response” to McSweeney’s filing her suit, Cohen “either directly requested or induced current and former ‘Real Housewives’ cast members” to “publicly disparage McSweeney’s character, and propensity for truthfulness, to curry favor with Cohen in the hopes that such favor would propel their entertainment careers.”
The mentions more than 20 cast members by name — including Luann de Lesseps, Kyle Richards, Melissa Gorga, Kandi Burruss and Dorinda Medley — who it claims were coaxed to slam McSweeney’s claims in the media, including on TMZ, Page Six and various podcasts and TV shows.
It specifically alleges that ubiquitous Bravolebriy Lisa Vanderpump appeared on “The Talk” and said “I’m on [Cohen’s] side,” that Heather Dubrow of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” implied on her podcast that McSweeney should be “thanking” Bravo rather than suing Bravo because she is “making money and thriving because of this platform,” and said that she was “irritated” by her lawsuit, and that Margeret Josephs of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” told Page Six that McSweeney’s claims are “[intended to do] nothing but to assassinate [Cohen’s] character and that is disgusting.”

In each case the suit claims that the star “would not have made [the] statement but for Cohen’s direction and/or inducement.”
The new filing is intended to bolster McSweeney’s argument that the defendents retaliated against her for filing her lawsuit.
In May 2024, Bravo and the other defendants filed a motion to dismiss her suit, and a judge heard oral arguments in the matter in November. In March, the judge dimissed parts of the suit, allowed her to proceed with other claims and asked for more evidence on some others, including the retaliation claim.
In Wednesday’s court papers, McSweeney also attempted to shore up her claims Cohen has done cocaine with some cast members, and that he has given preferential treatment to those stars.
After McSweeney made the claims in her lawsuit, Cohen demanded in an unusual move that she retract the claims or be sued for defamation.
The new court papers claim that this move was also retaliation against McSweeney, and they note that not only have two unnamed cast members privately told her that he uses cocaine, but that former cast member Nene Leakes has called him a “cocaine head,” that former cast member Danielle Staub has said he does “drugs,” and that former Cohen pal Kathy Griffin has claimed that Cohen offered her cocaine.
Cohen has strenuously denies all wrongdoing.
Gary Adelman, a lawyer for McSweeney, told Page Six the new filing “buttresses [her] retaliation claim” and that “Leah looks forward to discovery and depositions which she expects will be very revealing.”
Reps for Bravo and Cohen didn’t immediately get back to us.

I believe every word of this. We all know Andy has shady, messy tendencies, and carries a grudge once you get on his bad side.
I've said for years that my issue with him is that he doesn't understand how to separate being a boss from being friends with the people you employ. When he had a baby shower for one of his kids he had half the Housewives at the event. We all know he has his faves that he personally kiki's with. So where is the line? Because I'm not partying and getting close with someone who holds my career in their hands without benefiting in some way.
I also believe he carries a lot more power at Bravo than he lets on. Just because he's been demoted from an executive to talent because of unWatch What Happens Live, and his tired Radio Andy empire doesn't mean that he still doesn't have the power to pull the strings behind the scenes and make or break careers. And don't get me started on those ALLEGED booger sugar claims. I had heard about Andy's alleged love for riding the white horse long before Kathy Griffin spilled that tea.
Also all the Housewives' names mentioned in her lawsuit are notorious for sucking up to Andy. Kyle has offered nothing to RHOBH for years, yet it baffles me why she's still there when she doesn't even allow the show to dive deep into her messy marriage to Mauricio, or the alleged same-sex relationship with Morgan Wade.
Dorinda is still hoping her "break" with Bravo will be over, yet we haven't seen her on our TV screens since she was "killed" off of The Traitors. Melissa Gorga's uninteresting behind is hoping and praying she will still have a gig once RHONJ comes off it's indefinite "break."
Good thing Kandi is producing Othello, because outside of that overpriced Broadway show she's not that interesting of a reality TV personality. Miss Vanderc**t needs to suck up to Andy to keep those tired Vanderpump reality shows afloat, and who's still checking for Heather "lowbrow" Dubrow?
