After what seems like forever ago when Kevin Fiege first announced Mahershala as the MCU’s Blade, it looks like filming may be under way sooner than we thought.
According to Production List, Marvel Studios is looking to start shooting Blade on July 4 in Atlanta, Georgia, and New Orleans, Louisiana.
The plot description reads, “He is known to be a vampire hunter— half-mortal, half-immortal— who tries to rid the world of vampires as a way of avenging his mother, who was killed by a vampire as she gave birth to him.”
Blade will be directed by Bassam Tariq, and will also star Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre, with a screenplay from Stacy Osei-Kuffour (HBO’s Watchmen series).
No plot details have been revealed, and the film doesn’t have a release date. Nevertheless I’m glad Blade is finally getting off the production ground.
