CAST OF NOAH’S ARC SPOTTED FILMING AT #ALLBLACKLIVESMATTER MARCH

This past Sunday there was a huge turnout at an #ALLBLACKLIVESMATTER march in LA, and quite a few celebrities showed up to lend their support.

The celebrities who showed up to support queer people of color were Megan Thee Stallion, Tiffany Haddish and her rumored boo thang Common. But what really made things interesting was that a fan spotted a few of the cast members from the groundbreaking Logo series Noah’s Arc filming a scene at the march.

Darryl Stephens (“Noah”), Jensen Atwood (“Wade”) and Rodney Chester (“Alex”) were spotted carrying signs and chanting with protesters while multiple cameras were rolling. According to the fan, the actors were “trying to be incognito, but they were clearly being directed and moved around as though they were shooting something.”

Does this mean that we could be getting a fourth season of Noah’s Arc, which ran on Logo from 2005-2008? (Even though Jumping The Broom was a film, I consider that the third season). And how come Christian Vincent and Doug Spearman, who played Ricky and Chance weren’t there?

The answer to that question is sort-of. Today it was announced that the characters from Patrik-Ian Polk’s (The Skinny, Punks) groundbreaking series are teaming up for an hour-long special and virtual reunion.

The special, titled Noah’s Arc: The Rona Chronicles comes 12 years after the show ended (and the release of the affiliated film Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom).

It will air on July 5 at 8 p.m. EST and be followed by a live Q&A moderated by Queer Eye‘s Karamo Brown. Cast members Darryl Stephens, Jensen Atwood, Rodney Chester, Doug Spearmen, Christian Vincent, and Gregory Kieth, will all be a part of that Q&A.

Gilead is a title sponsor of the episode’s premiere and it will stream on Patrick-Ian Polk Entertainment’s YouTube and Facebook pages. The event will also support charity.

I’m pretty excited that Noah’s Arc coming back as a special episode, but they couldn’t find a more qualified gay black man to moderate besides Koonramo’s problematic ass? If we can get revivals of Will & Grace, The L Word and Queer As Folk (the latter which is going to be on the Peacock network), hopefully this special will launch a Noah’s Arc rivival.

Quiet as it’s kept not only could we use more queer stories on the big and small screen, but we could use more stories featuring queer POC.

If you haven’t seen Noah’s Arc and would like to, you can watch it here. You can also watch Jumping The Broom here.
