CIERA PAYTON AND MOROCCO OMARI TO PLAY WENDY WILLIAMS AND KEVIN HUNTER IN LIFETIME BIOPIC
How you doin’? The Wendy Williams biopic is finally taking shape.
Set to begin production this month, word on the street is that Ciera Payton has been chosen to play the legendary former shock jock-turned daytime talk show host. Her credits include stints on TV shows The Oval and She’s Gotta Have It.
As for who will play Wendy’s former Husbandger, Morocco Omari (Empire, P Valley) has been cast as Kevin Hunter.
The film, which has a working title ‘Wendy Williams: The Hot Topic’ is directed by Darren Grant (The Chi, God Friended Me), and is executive produced by Will Packer and Williams herself.
Debuting in 2021, the film will be paired with a feature-length documentary on Williams.
Wendy has promised fans that the biopic will be an unfiltered look into her life, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
As a Wendynista, I’ve always loved her unfiltered opinions about celebrities and pop culture, but always gave her the side eye whenever she didn’t want to truly disclose what was going on with her personally.
Hopefully she will give us fans what we want and will spill the tea about her roller coaster of a marriage, past drug use, etc.
