Doja Cat's Dad Blasts Her Mom for 'Brainwashing' Pop Star into Believing He is a 'Deadbeat'

Doja Cat’s father, Dumisani Dlamini is speaking out and blaming her mother, Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer, for their estranged relationship. In videos that surfaced online, Doja’s dad accuses her mother of allegedly “brainwashing” her into believing he abandoned her. His comments come after Doja previously spoke about her plans to meet up with him while she was performing in South Africa.

Dumisani Dlamini, the father of the Grammy-winning artist, defended himself on social media over the weekend from allegations he wasn't an involved or caring parent to Doja Cat, placing the blame on her mother for 'brainwashing' her.

The issue began as the Say So singer, 30, was playing a show at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa, the country where Dlamini lives.

The performance, labeled the Global Citizen Move Afrika concert, marked the first time Doja Cat performed in the country.

In TikTok clips labeled 'The Deadbeat Chronicles,' Doja Cat said that she had been in contact with her father, and offered him a ticket, but he declined, saying she doesn't 'message him enough.'

Doja Cat said she then played a prank on her father, sending him a link to gay pornography under the guise of being a site where he could acquire tickets to her show.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Doja Cat for further comment.  

The Paint the Town Red vocalist said, 'I sent him gay porn, and I said, "If you go to this link, you can get a ticket" - super duper easy.'

Doja Cat, whose full name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, said that her father told her he was 'very busy doing costume and rehearsal' and unable to check the link she sent.

The singer said her father continued sending messages while he was at work, telling her he didn't have time to check the link she sent him.

'So he just keeps on messaging me, and he says, "I'm just very busy right now,"' she said.

Doja Cat said she sent the link to him a second time - and this time he opened it up.

'He said, "Darling, what is this? Um, this, I, what I'm seeing is gay porn,"' she said, imitating her father.

She continued with her imitation, '"It's like a porno on my screen and I don't know if it's a scam, 'cause I feel like you're scamming here, so please, sweetheart, I don't know what to do with this - I can't get the ticket."'

Doja Cat - who captioned the TikTok, 'LOOOOOOOOOL i sent him tim tales' - ended the clip hysterically laughing at her prank.

Dlamini in a retort clip slammed Doja Cat's mother Deborah Sawyer for what he said was a longtime, misleading narrative about his parenting efforts to their daughter.

'That white woman brainwashed my baby, that I had left her,' Dlamini said in an Instagram post that he later deleted. 'I never left my kid.'

Dlamini vented about how his daughter - influenced by her 'white' and 'Jewish' mother Sawyer - chose to prank him instead of reconciling with him while in the area.

'She played the cards because of being influenced by her mother,' Dlamini said. 'She came to South Africa - she's got power to see me, and she faked it.'

Dlamini stressed to his social media following that he was not a deadbeat dad - but rather 'a man of integrity, respect and love.

'What I want to say to you guys is, I'm sorry if I ever touched anyone's nerves.'
