Matthews is asking her fans for help amid a housing crisis.
The season three fan favourite, who helped make “henny” part of Drag Race herstory, has revealed she is once again facing housing insecurity.
In a recent video shared on social media, Matthews said she is “not welcome” at her mother’s home and is being forced to leave without knowing where she will go.
“I’m just going to grab some stuff and hit it. I don’t know where I’m going,” she told fans, adding that she may have to sleep in her car if she cannot secure a room.
Matthews has since asked followers for financial support, sharing donation links while also selling digital artwork and signed photos.
She explained she is currently waiting for disability benefits as she focuses on improving her health: “I’m just trying to get my health in order so I can start back working,” she wrote.
The performer has faced ongoing health challenges in recent years, including a hospitalisation in 2024 due to spinal stenosis and previously stepping back from drag amid mental and physical health struggles.
Who is Stacy Layne Matthews?

Drag queen Stacy Layne Matthews competed on season three of RuPaul’s Drag Race, which aired in 2011.
She was a hit among viewers and won the “Snatch Game” as Mo’Nique. However she was eliminated in the next episode, coming eighth overall.
Matthews went on to have a guest appearance in RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season four. But she has not returned to the show as a contestant again.
