Heated Rivalry's Dylan Walsh Says he Got ‘In Trouble’ After Seemingly Leaking Info About Upcoming Episodes

“Heated Rivalry” actor Dylan Walsh has found himself on thin ice after revealing details about upcoming episodes in a video clip that has gone viral.

The 62-year-old, who plays David Hollander on the hit Crave hockey romance, recently paused his account on Cameo after he let slip information about the upcoming second season of the series, which just began filming.

“Getting ready to go back up to Canada and shoot some more episodes...I think we’re doing 12 this time,” Walsh says in clips of a recent video he recorded for a fan.

For those who have been following news about Heated Rivalry since the show premiered in November of 2025, this number is significant. Season 1 was six episodes, and creator Jacob Tierney has previously said that he doesn’t want to make more than six episodes per season. Fans took Walsh’s slipup as confirmation that seasons 2 and 3 might be filmed together, or that season 2 would be split in half.

“I don’t need to do 10. I would always rather tighten the belt than get loosey-goosey,” Tierney told the Los Angeles Times in February.

Walsh’s Cameo account now states that it’s unavailable for personalized videos until August 2027, a whole year away. “Stepping away because a video went viral that got me in trouble,” a message says under his profile on the app, which was viewed by EW.

EW reached out to reps for Walsh, Crave, and HBO —the U.S. distributor for the show — but did not immediately hear back.

Although Walsh may have accidentally spilled the beans on how many episodes Heated Rivalry was filming this fall, the platform he chose to reveal this on is ironically fitting. The Long Game by Rachel Reid, from which the second season of the Canadian show will be primarily adapted, includes a major plot point around a video going viral on a Cameo-like app.

Season 2 will continue to follow Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), two rival professional ice hockey players who are now navigating a secret relationship. As Shane’s dad, Walsh’s character was one of the first to learn of their romance after he walked in on them kissing in the season 1 finale. Along with Walsh, Christina Chang, who plays Yuna Hollander, is also expected to return. Reid’s The Long Game takes place around three years after the events of Heated Rivalry and sees Ilya, now playing for the Ottawa Centaurs, move to Canada to be closer to Shane.

The new season will also focus on another couple from Reid’s Game Changers series. Charlie Gillespie (Julie and the Phantoms) and Justice Smith (I Saw the TV Glow) are joining the show as Troy Barrett and Harris Drover.

Heated Rivalry season 2 is expected to premiere in the spring of 2027. The first season is now streaming on HBO Max.
