Jennifer Lopez Dragged for 'Staged' Paparazzi Walk in New York City Outing

Jennifer Lopez is facing backlash online after a recent hotel exit left some social media users accusing the superstar of staging a paparazzi moment. The singer and actress was spotted outside a Four Seasons Hotel in New York City on Wednesday, where cameras captured what many believed was a carefully timed entrance for photographers waiting outside.

The 56-year-old singer-actress was videotaped waiting for people to finish leaving the lobby of a Four Seasons Hotel in NYC on Wednesday, May 13, so paparazzi outside could get photos of her as she strutted. J.Lo stood by the doorway until the people cleared out. It seems she wanted a series of photos of her leaving the hotel, with no one else in the shot.

She was dressed in a light brown fur coat, cinched at the waist, and either a brown skirt or dress that hit mid-calf, paired with dark brown pumps. J.Lo held a dark brown clutch bag and wore sunglasses. She accessorized with earrings and a ring. The Kiss of the Spider Woman star was in NYC to promote her upcoming Netflix rom-com Office Romance, with Brett Goldstein.

There were people online who were upset that J.Lo did what she did in the video, accusing her of staging her exit and being egotistical.

A person wrote, "This is peak celebrity nonsense: Jennifer Lopez literally waiting for the crowd to clear before doing a 20-foot walk to her car, just to stage her paparazzi exit. I'm so over celebrity culture.'"

A second said, "Totally full of herself."

Another exclaimed, "This is next-level narcissism. JLo pausing like a diva for the 'peasants' to clear out so she can strut 20 feet to her SUV?"

While she was being criticized, others defended the Let's Get It Loud artist. A person wrote, "She's on a movie promo tour. A bunch of photographers were there only to take pics of her for money. She didn't control anyone, but simply waited for them to pass by. So what's the problem? You're just mad cuz she looks like a superstar, and I love this video for it."

Skincare blogger Sean Garrette said, "She was actually being considerate, while also being a professional diva."

J.Lo's forthcoming movie Office Romance is releasing on the streaming service on June 5. It follows a secret relationship between a high-powered CEO, Jackie Cruz (J.Lo), and a new lawyer, Daniel Blanchflower (Brett), who works for her company.

Brett co-wrote the romantic-comedy with Joe Kelly, and Ol Parker directed it. The Shrinking actor specifically penned the script with J.Lo in mind.
