Kevin Federline claims in his upcoming memoir that he caught Britney Spears in bed with one of her female backup dancers just a few weeks into their relationship.
Federline, 47, writes in You Thought You Knew that he joined Spears, 43, during a night out in Amsterdam in 2004 with her Onyx Hotel Tour crew, including dancer Teresa Espinosa, whom he credits with first introducing the couple at a Hollywood club called Joseph’s the month prior.
“It was one of those loose, carefree evenings where everyone was dancing, drinking and just having a good time,” he recalls in an excerpt published by USA Today on Wednesday, October 15. “We stayed out late, hitting one of the city’s nightclubs until at least 1 or 2 in the morning.”
After returning to their hotel room, Spears allegedly told Federline that she would be right back.
“As time passed, I began to wonder what was taking so long,” he remembers. “I was thinking maybe she was catching up with someone or handling something tour-related.”
However, as it continued to get later, Federline decided to go out into the hallway to find Spears.
“As I passed one of the rooms, I glanced inside — and froze. There she was,” he alleges. “Theresa [sic] was sitting on the edge of the bed. Britney stood between her legs, hands on her face and they were f***ing going at it. Full-on making out.”

Federline writes that he stayed silent, but at one point, Spears and Espinosa allegedly looked up and saw him, so he walked back to his room to pack his bags.
“I just wanted out,” he admits.
Eventually, Spears returned to their room too and asked Federline if anything was wrong, according to his account. He says he told her that he was leaving — both Amsterdam and their relationship.
“She started apologizing, explaining, promising it would never happen again,” he claims. “She told me she didn’t realize how serious I was about us, that she was overwhelmed and it had been a mistake.”
Federline explains in the book that he “wasn’t interested in a relationship that involved more than two people,” but he decided to give Spears another chance.
“Those weeks in Europe, navigating that emotional minefield together, laid the foundation of our relationship,” he writes. “They tested us, changed us and ultimately brought us closer together. It was during this time that I began to realize the depth of my feelings. And while the road ahead was anything but certain, I knew one thing for sure: I was falling in love with Britney.”
Spears and Federline went on to marry just months later. After welcoming sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, the former couple divorced in 2007.
In response to recently released excerpts from Federline’s tell-all, a rep for Spears tells Us Weekly, “With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her, and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir [2023’s The Woman in Me].”

You Thought You Knew is available in bookstores on Tuesday, October 21.
