According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE on Thursday, Oct. 29, Federline, 48, allegedly owes $117,704.77 to the City National Bank, for a credit card, a personal line of credit, and a personal overdraft line. The complaint states that he opened an account with the bank in late November 2024, which is around the time Spears’ child support payments ended.

Federline was ordered to pay back his credit card debt by August, while the personal line of credit was due in June 2025, and the personal overdraft line was due in April 2025.

The bank is also asking for unpaid accrued interest of 20.5% on the credit card, 7.5% on the personal line of credit, and 18% for the personal overdraft line.

PEOPLE has reached out to Federline’s attorney for comment.

Federline’s debts with the City National Bank come months after he was sued by the Bank of America alleging more than $12,000 in unpaid bills in March.

The bank claimed in an affidavit previously reviewed by PEOPLE at the time that Federline had opened an account on Dec. 6, 2024, and last submitted a payment in May 2025.

The account also appeared to have been opened one month after Spears, 44, made her final child support payment to him. Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan previously told PEOPLE the “Toxic” singer would pay until the couple’s son Jayden graduated high school in November 2024, in accordance with California law.

In his 2025 memoir You Thought You Knew, Federline claimed that he’d been awarded $20,000 per month in child support from Spears. He additionally received another $20,000 per month in alimony payments for half the duration of their 26-month marriage.

“People hear figures like that and think you’re financially set. But the reality is far from that,” Federline wrote in the book. “Raising two young boys in Los Angeles, while maintaining the security and stability they needed, came with a price tag that would make anyone’s head spin.”

Federline and Spears were married from 2004 to 2007, and share sons Jayden, 20, and Preston, 21, together.
